I had a CEL about a month ago and it came up as P0446. The guy at autozone told me to replace the gas cap, add add bottle of fuel cleaner to the tank, and check all the lines and connections. I did that but nothing happened, so I took apart the EVAP system under my hood and checked the canister for leaks. I found a small crack (which would explain the foul gas odor that comes from under my hood in the hot summer) and so I resealed the crack. But that still did not solve the issue; the light was still on. So I disassembled the VSV and CCV and checked if they were gummed up but they weren't. When I checked them electronically, they worked too. Then after a few half tanks of gas the light magically went away. I was back to filling her up like normal. Then one day after my trip from Vegas to Utah and back, the light came back on with the same code P0446. , and what I need to do to fix it; my book does not specifically explain what to do?
