I just installed a pac tato adapter to a pioneer 1600dvd HU. The sound isnt as loud as it was with the stock HU and the sound also sounds distorted at higher volumes. I dont know the speakers are getting enough power. I have 2 12"s with a 2000 watt mono amp so my question is, if i unconnect the stock 8" sub (i dont need it) will my speakers receive more power or not? If that doesnt work im just going to ditch the jbl amp and rewire the speakers with new wire and a new amp.

If i rewired it would i get to keep all the tweeters including the ones in the back and in the dash? How hard would it be to rewire and what all would i need to buy to do it? Also i need to know what kind of amp to use.
