Pads and rotor suggestions?

Hawk pads are excellent...Bremo too. I've been using Wagner for the past 30 years.
Highway driving has NOTHING to do with warped rotors. What causes warped rotors is when the rotor gets HOT (usually from stop and go driving) and then a sudden cool down (driving through a puddle). In fact driving on a highway will help prevent warped rotors because you're not doing a lot of braking and the air flow keeps the rotors cool.
Also the 4runner has a different setup then most other cars. Their calipers have 4 pistons. A known problem with this vehicle is one or more of the pistons stick prematurely......this will cause the same symptom of a warped rotor (pulsating brake pedal). I'm guessing that one or more of your calipers is bad and that your rotors are fine.

I've been using Wagner ThermoQuiet's and have been happy with the performance and low dust on rims. Got a killer deal on Amazon for $29. I had to replace my rotors too due to being warped, I forget what brand though but they have held up great. I did have the seized piston in my caliper though long after the new rotors and pulsating went away.

I went with centric premium rotors with TRD pads.
OEM pads are very good pads. The only thing you have to worry about them is their highly inflated price. Wagner is one of the OEM brake part manufacturers for many auto manufacturers.
Now here's a twist...Many vehicles made in Asia use Akebono brake pads. But when the dealer here in the US get's their OEM parts from companies like Wagner.

I too have an 08 V6. I bought this kit for $200 with free shipping. Both on simple in about an hour altogether. Look great.

That is very true. I remember getting my last pads and got a set that included the shims. I wasn't expecting to see 'made in USA' on them.

Centric premium blank rotors. There is no need to waste money with drilled or slotted rotors. Money is better spent on a quality alloy rotor. Centric premiums are also coated black on the hats and vanes so they don't rust.
I run EBC green SUV 6000 pads. Great street and mild performance/towing pad. More agressive bite than stock and better feel and response.
If you want a very agressive pad, get the EBC yellow SUV 7000 pads. They are a bit cold blooded and take a stop or two to get up to temp in the morning. They have a very agressive initial bite and a very positive feel like a performace car.
Also, flush your brake fluid out with fresh fluid.

I use ebc green stuff pads 6000 series and ebay brakemotive drilled and slotted rotors, rotor can be had for around 150-175, pad are around 130 out the door i think. My next upgrade, i will try the ebc yellow pads.
I just ordered EBC rotors and Greenstuff pads. Will report back when I get them installed. These are for the bigger 13.3" rotors that the sport/limited have.
