Paine Hill CT/MA 12/23/06

This is a state forest with open trails along the CT/MA border. Normally a great place for stock trucks, I figured I'd come out here for an easy run. Turned into the first use of the winch

In this next photo I high-centered the truck, with all 4 wheels off the ground.

Thanks to the winch and a well-placed tree across the stream, I was able to pull it over the top and back down onto its wheels. After that it was through the stream, a little to the left, and back up the other bank.

I will do a full inspection tomorrow, but so far it seems like I just scraped the skid plates without too much damage. The rock sliders did their job too.

fyi, PH trail is closed from Jan 1 through late March/early April. so dont head back till then.

Sorry Lee, last minute decision to go. And I found a few new trails there that we normally don't go on, so we should head back as a group in the spring.

Did the bumper move at all? You may be the first SW winching (that I know of).


*Sidenote - has anyone heard anything else about Paragon in January?

The bumper did move forward by less than half an inch. My friend and fiance both noticed it when I first applied power to the winch. I haven't rechecked the tightness but I did eyeball the mounts and everything looks okay. I'm assuming it was just a bit of "adjustment" that is normal.

karl, check the bolts.

bumpers shouldnt move... mine does and its because my tjm is pretty weak when i bash it hard, it moved on the mounts.

check em out to be sure.
