Paint for exterior metal

I just bought a 91 T4R and would like to restore some of the exterior metal surfaces (bullhorn, tire swing, spare tire etc.).

Can anyone recommend a matte black spray paint that looks good and won't flake/rub off?

Here's my driver side door I roller painted with Rustoleum Satin black. I thinned the paint with mineral spirits and applied 4-5 coats. Sanding between each coat. I may do the rest of the truck after I get the rest of my trail damage pounded back int shape.

I recently did the tire carrier (rusty), wiper arms (rusty), front bumper valance (scratched and gouged) all with flat black grill paint from Home Depot. No reason to get fancy with it.

Just like what everyone else said, Rustoleum is the bomb. I like the "hammered finish" one a ton. I used it on my whole front end and it turned out awesome. Just remember to sand, clean/degrease, prime, and then paint. And make sure you apply the coats with time time to dry in between, and in the best temperature (anywhere above 50). The prepwork allways shows once your done. Here's my front end

your prep work will be key, if you take it down to bare metal use a self etching primer then the rustoleum

Are you guys all talking rattle can paint jobs? if so they look great. How does the roller stuff work out because that door in the above post looks awesome. ive also been thinking about going the plasti-dip route. my paint job as of now is starting to look a bit worn out and i want to freshen it up this summer.

I used a high density foam roller. I used about a 50/50 mixture of paint and mineral spirits and rolled a coat on. Let it dry, then sand. Cleaned the surface and then repeated 4-5 times. I used a satin black finish, so I can't use a high speed buffer. If you use a glossy paint, you should be able to get a really nice shine.
I also am in the process of using platidip on all my chrome. So far I've done the mirrors and both bumpers.

Oh! And it took me 4 days to do that door. It's very time consuming, but I could paint the whole truck for less than $100.

Thanks for the input, I think I'll try Rustoleum this weekend on my spare. I'm going to try Krylon Fusion Satin Black on the license plate holder. I'll post pics of the results.
