Painted Hood Guard and Window vents?

Just got a hood guard and some window vents in the mail and was thinking of painting them he same color as my 4runner, titanium, to match. Anyone do this yet? Wondering how it looks compared to the standard black.

I've never seen color matched deflectors, but in my mind they look hella cool :guitar2:

Might take a bit of searching, a couple years ago, someone bought a used 4th Gen with a Titanium Hood guard on it. Pictures were sharp and clear.

ive painted a few of them before, they where the clear ones tho. I painted the inside of them. The paint will scratch of really easy on the outside since the plastic is so slick, i painted the inside for protection. If u decide to paint them tho try and go to your local autobody supply store and get an aersol can of spray adhesion called bulldog, paint will stick to anything once u spray that on it. just a liberal coat tho, dont spray it to heavy. autozone might even sell it.

The better you prep, the better off you'll be as always. But I'd still recommend the adhesion promoter. With the hood visor being in such a vulnerable area, it's always going to be prone to chipping. You can protect it with coats of clear, but there is a second issue inherent with painting plastic parts and it's the plastic flexes a lot more than metal. So along with a sticky promoter I'd also try to get a paint that is formulated for plastic, because it's formulated with a little more elasticity to flex with you parts.
