That truck looks siiiick. I love the Sport models. Something to consider, I would repaint the hitch with black POR-15, and reinstall it. Mainly because even though you never tow anything, if some jackass rear ends you, the tow hitch will take the brunt of the force. Just sayin. Oh, and I would put one of these on too and mount it permanently. Cause far more damage to the dungpile that hits you in the rear. :lol:

Palmetto, your 4runner looks super sweet, except for one thing . . . those tacky and aukward fender flares. The things are enormous! They stick out like a soar thumb. 4 soar thumbs actually. So I would like to make a proposition. I will trade you those for my Sr5 flares, AND pay you some mula in the deal, since your flares are larger. I belive this will make your runner look much more complete. :surfer: But seriously, if youre interested in my offer, its for real

1985 - I actually like the ones like you have... sometimes I look at mine and think they are too big, maybe once I get some spacers on it'll look a little better. You should just plati-dip yours I bet they will look 10 times better!

Carolina - Nice meetin' ya, it was cool seein' your truck in person... I'm definitely going to have to plati-dip my deflector now. We need to get up again and actually do some wrenchin'. Can't wait to see how the skid looks on yours!

Thanks man. Those fogs are coming off tomorrow...one bulb went out and I just plain don't like them! Hellas sound like a great replacement though:frog:

That would be cool because you could then get some hid's for those to match your headlights!

Plasti-dipped and cleared the roof rack and wind deflector the other day. They look a thousand times better than before. Only problem was I started running out of clear coat so the clear is not very even, I'll have to go back and re-spray them. Next up is the bumper and splash guards.

The HIDS were the plan for whatever fogs I do get but I think the Hella's will be much brighter, and look a lot cooler during the day:gun6:

Looks great man! I've been on the fence about doing the rack. How hard was it to get in all of the "nooks and crannys"? Or maybe even more important, getting the Plasti-Dip out of the "nooks and crannys".

when you did your roof rack/wind deflector did you take them off first? or just tape off newspaper like you did with the emblems? if you didnt remove them, were you worried about messing up the paint at all?

Plasti-Dip does NOT mess up the paint. However, when I did my deflector I took it off so I could do both front and back sides.

Yeah I took them off to do it... felt like it would be easier to do that then trying to worry about peeling it off, plus the clear coat would have had to been masked off anyway. I also wanted to inspect underneath the rack as there were little spots of surface rust around the screws and I wanted to make sure it wasn't spreading.

Only thing is when I do the other pieces I want to do I'm going to take the rack off again and put some caulk or something in with the screws. It looks as if there was some in there from the factory but its all dried up and pretty much usless now.

Alright I know I'm going to catch some flak for this but idc... just picked up what I believe to be a hunter brush guard. Guy was selling it for 200 and I talked him down to 150 which I don't think is bad at all. Only problem now is I can't get one of my stupid bumper bolts to come loose! Got some PB on there right now hopefully a few hours of that will help em along.

I'll get pics when I get on so you all can say how awful it is... FLAME ON!!!

That has to be the worst idea ever! I can't believe you are putting a damage multiplier on your rig! The bolt not coming loose is a sign from the T4R gods!

You should do what GottaBeTRD did and chop off the headlight guards from the grille guard. That way it is just the center protector. I think that looks alot better.
