Yeah I'm gonna try it out for a bit see how I like it, most likely I'll end up trying what TRD has right now because I love how it gives it that emergency vehicle look. Even if I come out not liking it I'm sure I can find someone who will pay 150 for it... I did! :bigok:

You should do what GottaBeTRD did and chop off the headlight guards from the grille guard. That way it is just the center protector. I think that looks alot better.

u guys with black 4runners keep ur paint in good condition. I wish mine was like that. as soon as the sun hits my paint it just looks awful with a million streaks.strips.
good looking runner man. I suggest hella700s for the bumper. they are bigger than the 500's and look better IMO

Haha you wouldn't say that if you saw mine up close man, ask carolinafan. My front bumper looks like a 14 year old who needs proactive. I also have several areas where the PO has taken touch up paint and pretty much just globed it on. The way I look at it though is now I won't be as anal about other scrapes and bruises she gets. Other than the obvious stuff the paint looks great for a 9 year old black truck, I contribute most of that to the clay bar, polish and wax.

Its not that bad man. Give yourself some credit! If it wasnt for the holes from the PO mounting the lights your bumper would be in good shape. Like you said its a 9 year old truck. Its going to have some scratches. I say throw some Hellas on the brush guard and let it roll.:driving:

Ok so I got the brackets for the brush guard but cannot figure out where they are supposed to bolt to. They have a really weird angle on them and don't come close to aligning with the frame (or anything) behind the bumper.
Can anyone else who has a brush guard with the brackets help me out?

yeah that definitely looks like the Hunter guard. it looks good man! let me see if i can snap some pics for you which brackets. which ones you are confused about?
but my black paint isn't the best either my front bumper looks the same with the acne thing lol! the person who owned it before me must have driven though a crazy sand storm or something haha but just gives an excuse to eventually end up with a shockworks or something fun

I'm talking about the ones that go through the upper half of the bumper grille. Mine come in at an angle and are about 2 1/2" above the holes on the side of the frame.

ok i think i know what your talking about if i remember right some of them gave me problems too. as for the bolt i too had an issue with getting the off underneath. i ended up taking it to a shop and they loosened them up for me for free.

TRD - He actually never even bothered putting these brackets on, must be the guy he got if from. I don't know how he didn't have them on there this thing shakes constantly on the interstate like no ones business!
