Panhard correction kit install

I bought the pck kit a while back and figured I’d get it out in for now while I’m working on hatching parts for my leaf spring swap so I don’t run the chance or wearing out anything since the rear end isn’t squared up after my toy tech spring and king shock install.

Well this is what I have. I posted pics in Keith’s fs thread but figured this post would get more attention.

The driver side bracket fit perfect the passenger side drop bracket did not locate on the stock bracket well at all. Also, what are the two washers for that came with the kit? I’m pretty sure the bracket is tweeked and I just need to basically beat the pck bracket on to make it work and make the bolt holes line up.

It's not a critical tolerance fit, so I say get it as close as possible, get the bolt through it, and weld it on. Alternatively, you can contact Keith and see what he says

The washers go inside the passenger side adapter, IIRC, to center the panhard inside the adapter; I installed one on each side.

I think I’m having issues because the truck was hit and that bracket looks tweaked.

The other side fits perfect.

I’ll get it to fit just was curious if anyone could tell what I had going on with the pictures I posted.

The washers inside make sense, the passenger side bracket is a little wider inside than stock.

Well it’s lifted so I assume it needs it since the rear end isn’t centered since it’s been lifted.

I am only assuming the weird fitment is related to that bracket / perch possibly being tweaked from an accident as I see bondo on that back quarter panel. There is no visible issues with the frame rails that I can tell but really I don’t know.

Basically I have the pck and want to put it on but long term solution for me is leaf springs and removing that bracket and crossmember anyways. But that could be a year or so down the road if not longer

Also, I assume that perch is tweaked just because it looks odd, can someone take a picture of what there passenger side panhard bar bracket looks like from the wheel well?

You can see the twist in it in your first photo. Just get out a BFH and see if you can get it aligned with the bracket holes. It's your truck and not the PCK. [MENTION=28464]eimkeith[/MENTION] PCK kit is a super easy install and the fit was perfect on mine and everybody else's. I'm sure you'll get it sorted.

Worse case if you plan on using the lower holes you could just put the bar in one of the lower holes and weld it with the first holes still off centered. Just make sure the bar fits than tack away. If your going leaf eventually that'll be fine till then. Most likely a lot longer. lol

Looks like it is bent forward and twisted a little.
I'd say a good sized hammer and a grinder with a flapwheel will straighten and smooth it right out.

That factory upper mount is MANGLED.

the good news is - you can correct it with the PCK drop bracket if you don't distort it (the PCK bracket), and keep the axis between the holes parallel to the centerline of the frame (does that make sense?)

Judging by the photos, your rear panhard bar bolt hole in the upper mount may be in the correct location - I can't imagine what kind of rear suspension bind you must have had up to now, getting this resolved should make a night and day difference!

Yeah, I have no clue haha. It has always seemed to drive ok. Maybe I just thought t was ok for 200k miles and just assumed.

I’ll get it sorted out I’m sure pretty easily when I have some time get out there later this week I hope.

I never even mentioned it being a pck problem. I assumed it was my truck all along.

oh man - you're going to love the difference. (or my name isn't Orville Redinbahker {someone help me with the spelling})
 
Woah! Yeah, that's tweaked for sure. I think I would put a long bar stock(or if you have a long ratchet/socket extension) through the holes, and try to twist it clockwise looking at it from the floor.
Grind the bottom of the factory mount down enough to be able to use the middle adjustment hole with the washers inside. You'll need to grind a semi-circle almost up to the factory hole to use the washers in the middle hole without trimming them.
I don't wanna talk it up too much, but my rig handles SO good after the PCK. It's incredible.
 
After dealing with front end issues and now this I probably should have searched out a better 4Runner to throw all this money at haha.
