Parasitic Draw Driver Power Window

Hi everyone,

I have a 2000 4runner that I am trying to chase down an intermittent parasitic power draw on.

I have installed a current monitor on the battery and tracked the parasitic load down to the "POWER" fuse on the cabin fuse box which I think goes to the power windows/locks/etc...

I have always had an intermittent issue with the driver power window where sometimes if I bang on the door enough it will start working again. Sure enough, after installing the current monitor, when the parasitic power draw is present the driver window won't work. If I bang on the door enough, the window will start to work again and the power draw will go away.

Does this point more to the switch or the motor itself? I have taken the switch assembly out and all the wires/connectors/circuit-boards look in great shape with nothing obviously wrong. Is there anything I can test?

Check the wires in door jam boot and see what you find out.

Try unplugging the window motor when in parasitic drain. If it clears, motor is likely the issue. If not, it's definitely the switch or wiring. I agree...check the wires in the door harness to body connection where they flex. Common fail point.

Good advice, now to tear into the door to get to the motor. Will check the door connection as well.
