Run that wire straight to ground. I added a micro small toggle switch on the dash. Start the movie, flick the switch up, then back down. Video appears fine while you drive.
Not saying that I do this of coarse.
Iron Maiden live in concert DVD. Don't need video, just crank up the audio!!

Easier to just use a relay no need to flick anything turn car on and proof watch your movie

Every radio is different, I have used the relays, but also just grounded the green wire to the black ground, usually works 1 of 2 ways. I doubted grounding the green wire straight to black, but it worked for me
what kind of radio is it?
also try this if you wanna use a relay
Relay pins
85 - blue w/ white stripe (From Radio)
86 and 87 - ground (connect to black wire on the radio harness)
30 - green w/ white stripe (From Radio)

I called a couple shops for my HU installation and a couple said that the parking brake bypass is illegal? I live in TX and not sure if that's true or not. Also, if I do the parking brake bypass, that just means I'll be able to play a DVD movie while the car is in drive? Can you type an address in the GPS while the car is moving? I'm having a Kenwood 891HD installed.

Sorry to bump an old thread but I need a little help. I wired up my bypass today and it works. BUT it shows my parking break engaged the whole time my car is on causing it to constantly alarm while I'm driving. Took me a little thinking to figure out why since I couldn't find any info on this. I believe it's doing this because my remote wire is also hooked up to my amp which is constantly on,sending a constant signal to my parking brake. Has anyone ran into this before or have a solution? Thanks!

No. Cause all you need to do is ground that wire from the radio instead of wasting money on bypasses

I believe pioneers need a pulse signal?
I have a pioneer and I was able to hook it up to a switch. I only need to pulse it on power loss. Once I do that its good to go again until I unhook the battery. The switch I have is just hooked up to the chassis ground.

Not in all cases, newer units are smarter and need to see (Edit on/off/on parking brake). The easiest thing to do is wire one of those basic auto parts store relays ~$4-6. This allows auto ready (no need for a switch).

Some pioneer units will work with a basic ground, higher end models need to be tricked with a relay. For example my roommates AVH-x2700 can just go to ground, my AVH-x3800bhs needs to be tricked with a relay as posted above.

I have this radio Pioneer AVH-X5700BHS which is higher then yours and i grounded the wire its a 2015 model. No relay no bypass needed. Maybe yours needed but mine didnt. Should try one thing first before wasting money. If it didnt need it in the first place. Someone had this issue awhile back. He tired my advice and never came back to say it didnt work.
