Park Brake Bypass for dvd player

I think it'll work correctly if I cut the parking brake wire from the harness off the actual parking brake so the signal will go to the parking brake wire but not the actual car. Try it out tomorrow morning when I get off

Some pioneer units will work with a basic ground, higher end models need to be tricked with a relay. For example my roommates AVH-x2700 can just go to ground, my AVH-x3800bhs needs to be tricked with a relay as posted above.

Ive got the AVH-5700.

I have this radio Pioneer AVH-X5700BHS which is higher then yours and i grounded the wire its a 2015 model. No relay no bypass needed. Maybe yours needed but mine didnt. Should try one thing first before wasting money. If it didnt need it in the first place. Someone had this issue awhile back. He tired my advice and never came back to say it didnt work.

Yeap, like i said some need it and some dont. It's pretty easy to test/the screen will basically tell you. Aka ours work the same, they require parking brake on/off/on to allow DVDs so a relay achieves that automatically as opposed to needing to flip a switch everytime. They're like $4 at oriellys so either way its not that expensive.

Hooking up to a relay like i posted circumvents the need to flip a switch everytime, your radio will always be automatically ready to run DVDs. Just thought I'd offer up the suggestion.

I only have to do the switch flipping once, if I unhook my battery. After that I never touch it. Im just saying before the OP goes through the trouble of hooking up a relay why not just try grounding it to see if that works. If that doesnt work put in a simple switch. If that doesnt work then yes go with a relay.

No. Cause all you need to do is ground that wire from the radio instead of wasting money on bypasses

because $13 to properly wire your bypass is too difficult.

Gimme a break. Most newer double dins cant just use a straight ground.

Interesting, not trying to disagree with you maybe your radio used a diff safety method than the few I have worked with. Ill keep that in mind if I have another go around with these units again anytime soon.

Yeah, I was going nuts trying to figure out what I had to do when I installed it. It was the newest model when I bought last year (or was it in 2014). I just had a switch laying around so I tried that first and it worked. Everything I read said I was going to have to hook up a relay but like I said I only have to do that if I lose power. If it was a fluke they have yet to fix it in any FW updates I've done.

How is it properly wiring a relay or a bypass the right way ? Your defeating the purpose of that wire. Connect it to a ground and confirm that it will mess your radio up. Bypass and relays are plain stupid in my opinion if its not needed To work. If its needed then yes. Buy it. My radio is the 2015 model. The latest one is a 5800. How more higher end do you want. A 2018 that hasnt come out yet.

I see you have a superiority complex by how you responded.

Fact is some need a bypass to PROPERLY work. Some don't. My "ancient" pioneer that's far inferior to you and your model needed a bypass. As did the latest Carplay model my dad just installed.
