Check brake fluid level.
I do believe that was the problem with mine - thanks. It was about 1/2" below the full line. I topped it off and will keep an eye on it to confirm.
Update on mine: When I topped off the reservoir, plus just a little more, my dash brake light has not come on again. That was it. I'm glad it wasn't a failing switch, and especially glad that it wasn't a failing hydraulic cylinder.
Mine is doing this when I'm stopped nose up. Most consistent at the end of the driveway waiting to pull out, even though that's a fairly small slope. It'll go off after 10-15 seconds of driving. Fluid is about 1/8" over the line, and I recently bled the system. Pedal still has more travel than I like, but once they start to grab, they feel normal.
Thinking I'll probably go ahead and bleed another quart of fluid through this weekend if the weather cooperates, just in case there's a bubble somewhere.

I have a 98 and what fixed it for me was just topping off the brake fluid, a good 1/4" above the max line
Guess it can't really hurt anything, so I'll top it up before I head into town to look for a 24mm socket. (Realized there's nothing in the previous owner's notes about the rear diff, so as soon as the jug of Lucas gets delivered, I'll be crawling under to deal with that.)
Does make me want to smack whatever idiot put the line there, though.
