Parking break release noise

Please help! Parking break release noise

I just recently purchased my first 4Runner. It's a 2009 Limited V8 4WD. I purchased it from a dealer and it is still under their limited warranty. I'm a little concerned with a noise it's making. I hear the noise after each time I release the parking break, put the 4Runner in drive and start to drive forward. The noise is coming from the area of the parking brake release. I just want to know if this is normal? I've never driven a vehicle before that makes a noise after you've already released the parking break. I'm new to this forum. However, I did search this topic to find the answer first. I was not successful. I do apologize if this has already been asked and answered before. I just want to get any issues taken care of while it's still under warranty. If there are any other known issues with this generation and year that I should address with the dealership, please let me know. Any insight/ help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Hi. Thanks for responding. It lasts for about 3 seconds every time. It sounds like someone is gliding their fingers on the bellows part of an accordion (or fingers gliding across fan blades). I did not see anything that could be causing it.

If the parking brake was never used til you got started using it, you may have caused it to stick just by using it.

Use that warranty while it's still good. Hopefully this falls under all the small print.
