Part of driver's side door panel

My problem is that the part of the door panel that holds the electric window buttons and door lock, is broken. The panel of buttons for the windows and door lock is falling into the door.

Any suggestions?

Or

does anyone know the name of the part so I can at least go get one?

Do the windows all work from that panel? Could be a bunch of things...
 
zopperman. yes all the controls are working perfectly, no electrical problems.

It is just that the whole cluster of controls is disconnected from the plastic door panel piece that holds them up.

I can actually still use the window buttons and such, it is just that it is slowly slipping into the door panel.

i think three screws hold it in place, one could just be loose or stripped out f the plastic hole

I took off the complete door panel and, of course, the plastic is broken off of the part of the panel that holds the window controls up....


Does anyone know where I can buy the part or at least get the part number for the driver's door panel part that the window control cluster is screwed into?

how about some super glue?

or if you have a soldering iron you can melt the plastic back together. thats what i did
 
if i remember right that panel isnt separate. You'll have to either melt the plastic or find a screw that works or even super glue.
 
How wierd, Surfergyrl! My door window control panel started doing the same thing on my rig, yesterday! I'm going to pull my door panel off tomorrow and see if mine is broken or just a loose screw. If broken, then off to Ebay for a used one.
 
LTDSC and zopperman....I will have to do that and take both for your advice.
I already checked eBay and there weren't any for my car. Plus, they only sell the whole door panel and they were priced at $85 one is for leather int. and other was gray. Mine is tan, cloth interior.
I also checked the salvage yard websites around the country, the cheapest there was $62, that's a lot of money for a plastic piece that is only about a foot long.
Thank you for the suggestions...I have gorilla glue here and I may reinforce it with wrapped metal twine and glue.

Post a pic of the broken piece.

I'd try to melt it together
 
The resolution of this issue!

I gorilla glued it, the whole window button mechanism to the door panel. I found screws that were abut 16" longer and forced them into the old screw holes (with gorilla glue in the holes). Its still holding!!!

This forum has been a life saver for me!!!
