Remove the rear seats. Remove the door sill trim piece. Then start with the hatch area. Start with the floor trim, remove the carpet divider behind the seat. Remove the seat belt. turn and remove the cargo net bracket and bolt behind it. Remove the 2 access disks and the bolts behind them. Remove carpet and Styrofoam then the screw at the base of the wheel well cover. Pop out the cover for the recliner handle. Remove the 2 screws behind that. Pull the taillight cover (but I don't remember if there is a bolt behind there. Pull the outlet panel and disconnect harnesses. Remove the floor tie-downs.
There may be other points that I forgot but that is most of them.
Then grab the plastic panel and the rear and start tugging carefully. There are clips that connect it to the upper panels so make sure you are careful as you are pulling them apart.
If anything gets really stuck, check to see if you missed a bolt or screw somewhere.
