Passenger side V8 exhaust manifold leak and P2440

So I've got a nice tick coming from the passenger side manifold. I'm pulling it off to try to weld it this weekend. I know it's not the best method but I'm on a budget right now. Any tips on getting this out without pulling the whole engine? Also any experience with this and P2440? I've already replaced the pump, the valve, and tried the bypass kit. (hence being on a budget now.) I have to reset the light so often, freeway driving is uncomfortable. Check engine light pops less often when the engine is hot, but still pops.

Passenger side is the easier side. It'll help to have a good mid length 14mm socket, not a shallow well, nor a deep well. I cut down an old deep well to a good length to make it work perfectly. Sometimes the studs come off with the nuts, sometimes they stay, it's easier to slide the manifold out if all the studs are removed first, this requires an external torx socket (e10? don't quote me on size there). PB blaster and patience got all but one stud on mine, heat got the last one. Didn't break any so I didn't waste more time doing that extraction and repair, just take your time.

Sorry no advice on the 2440. Sounds like you've replaced it all? Bypassed it all? Something must not be wired up correctly or valve stuck wrong direction.

I just did my passenger manifold. Took 2.5 hours, would take an hour less if I did it again. I unbolted motor mount from the engine and the cross member, lifted passenger side of the motor up maybe 1-2" with engine hoist, removed manifold bolts and cat bolts. Slid right out. I took the studs out because everyone said too, waste of time and would not do it again. Did not make it any easier for me. Maybe if I could not lift the motor or would help?

Thank you guys. Hopefully it'll be done this weekend. I've got new gaskets, studs and nuts. I hope this kills my code. At the very least it'll get rid of the tick.
