Passenger side windows rolling down, but not up

Hi,

I have a weird electrical phenomena:
Both passenger side windows roll down normally when the passenger side button is used, but they can't roll them up.

From the driver's console, I can still roll them up again.

This is independent of the child function as they can't roll it down when this is activated.

Really puzzled what it could be - switch, module, wiring?

Window goes down , not up

You might luck out with switch. My 16 year old Pilot 2nd row windows did that several months apart.
Can you pull window up by hand? Then does it drop down when you let go?
I replaced the motor/cable assembly (in stock at auto parts store) myself first time on a Sunday because Pilot was needed Monday AM. The Cable was partially detached.
Not hard but required a couple hours in awkward positions sitting on a low stool or the ground.
Good you-tubes on this subject.
Second window I paid $200 labor to have a shop do it.

Clearly, this is not a mechanical defect since both windows roll up and down normally when initiated from the driver's side switches.

I agree, maybe one switch would be bad if it was only one window, but since both passenger side's windows are affected, I'm hesitant to believe it's a switch issue - unless the power for the back one goes through the front passenger switch.

But maybe it's one way to start tackling the issue....

DC motors for windows use the switch to just reverse the polarity to go in the opposite direction. If both doors' switch will let the window go down then most likely you've lost the ground that goes to those doors on that side of the car to make them go up. It could be a wire in the door jamb that's broken, no longer providing that ground. It still works from the driver's control because that's probably a different set of wires to control them.

I'd take a door panel off and take some voltage readings at the switch and motor, using the door switch and driver switch.

I had a '91 Camry that wouldn't work from the door or driver's side. I never found the problem but added a ground to the R/F door so at least that switch worked.
