Have experience with both. My dad has that exact Pathfinder, and I have that exact 4Runner. The 4Runner is a much smoother ride, better handling, and far better acceleration (before I had the V8, I owned the SR5 V6, so am familiar with both engines).
Driven on many Missouri hills in both vehicles and can say the Pathfinder struggled uphill.
The 4Runner provides superior comfort, power, and handling over the Pathfinder.
To prove I'm not a Toyota fanboy, if you compare the Camry to the Maxima, I can tell you the Maxima is a superior car in performance and convenience.
