Nice truck, I haven't seen another 3rd Gen Surf in WPG yet, I miss mine all the time. If you have any questions let me know.
FYI: you can wire the DRL's to the turn signal lights below the headlights, perfectly legal. You'll need the amber corner lenses from a 4runner as well to pass safety. You'll likely get called for the seatbelts when you take it in for safety, you need to swap to the 4runner ones with the proper tags on them.

Diesel toys in Texas is the company, he is importing the bigger 4.0 liter diesel and dropping them into FJ cruisers and newer Tacomas and some 4RUNNERS

that's the one. but there's no toyota 4.0L TD engine for 4WDs/SUVs. only the 3.0L I4, 4.2L I6, and 4.5L V8.
What he's putting on the FJCs, Tacomas, & 4Runners is the 3.0L 1KZ-TE or 1KD-FTV.

Hi. I think you're on Heights too! You helped answer a couple of the questions I had a month or 2 ago, when I was getting ready for it to arrive. My new lights just arrived (headlights and corner lights) so I'm putting those in tonight. I was going to wire up my DRLs to the corner lights since those are the lights that turn on when I flip my light switch once, and those were the lights so many cars had as DRLs back in the late 90's anyway.

Installed Lift kit and tires
Lift is a Toytec 3"
Front: Toytec Coilovers (Bilstein shocks)
Rear: OME 890 springs with OME Shocks
Tires are Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac 265/75R16 on Toyota twin 3-spoke wheels.
Also ordered a set of Spidertrax 1.25" spacers. Waiting for those to arrive; hopefully they get here soon.
I had wanted to swap my winter tires to the Toyota rims and mount the Duratracs to my 8" wide wheels but I didn't have the time to do that this year. I will probably repaint my other rims over the summer and swap the tires around winter time.
I'm also going to update the first post as I go. I figure That will be easy for people to follow along.
