i finally figured it out sometime last year the difference between the settings that a lot of people dont talk about.
eco is self explanatory but city, sport and sport+ are not. city will increase the throttle response to first half pedal depress at a higher rate than the last half of pedal depress. sport will also increase the throttle response to first half pedal depress but not as much as city and the last half of pedal depress will increase the throttle response at a higher rate. sport+ combines both city and sport where the entire pedal range increases throttle response. for this reason i think most people will actually prefer sport over city because city mode "lurches" too much.

city lurches or lunges? it sounds like city is boosted while sport is less boosted during initial 1/2 of pedal.
I didnt realize pedal commander worked in this manner. This is what i was searching for awihle.
Does sprint booster do this too? Does it behave variably the first 50% pedal and last 50% pedal?
yea i think lunges is a better word or jumpy. i learned about this when i installed in on my gx460 where you can really feel the difference because of the higher torque. city mode felt a bit "jumpy" on first depress of the pedal so i changed to sport and the "jumpiness" went away. after i tested all the modes i realized how pc works. i am unsure if sprint booster works the same way.

Really appreciate the product evaluation. I linked the user manual above. City and sport mode in the user manual chart shows the opposite of what youre saying about city/sport modes. Not doubting your evaluation as things on paper dont always equate to real world results.
gosh i really wish there was a mode that mimic'd oem pedal up to the first 50% then go very aggressive the last 50% of the pedal. The frustrating part for me is when you mash down the pedal and the damn 4runner makes the slowest downshift in the world.
