Pedal Commander

I recently installed a Pedal Commander on my 2018 SR5 Premium and love it.

I am someone that like things to be "Clean Looking" so getting the PC out of sight would be preferable.

I currently have it mounted on the right side of the steering wheel column and it works fine, however I would like to see where other people have mounted their PC.

Thanks in advance.

I put mine behind the dash once I got it set where I want it. Now I just used the bluetooth if I want to change anything.

I just got this unit and it is awesome. I also got the bluetooth version and hid it behind the dash. I use the phone to set it where I want and done deal! Clean and simple mod, well worth it.

I'd be curious to hear from you guys what are the immediate benefits you noticed after installation.

I'm going to be buying my 2018 SR5 very soon and this mod is on my list, but I am curious...

Thanks

immediate benefits are improved throttle responsiveness. That aside, you have to find the right setting for your driving style..It took me a few weeks to figure out what I liked best. Finally wound up settling on Sport -2. That gave me the right amount of responsiveness I was looking for without it being too jumpy.

Can anyone speak on how it has affected gas mileage? Everyone seems to be very pleased with this product but I am hesitant to improve the vehicle this way outside of what Toyota thought would be suitable. Why didn't it come this way from the factory?

because Toyota had to hit Government mandated MPG averages

Pedal Commander Installation Issue

I purchased the Pedal Commander for my 2019 4Runner Limited yesterday and tried to install it today. I could not get the plug for the accelerator pedal to release. I am 71 and probably don't have the finger strength I used to have but the plug shouldn't be that hard to release. I understand there is a "lever" on the console side of the plug that needs to be pressed in at the top to release the plug but I tried several times and could not get it to release. Any suggestions?

yeah, those get more difficult to press down with age (both personal and vehicle). A couple of suggestions I have used:

1. To press the tab down further, try something like long nose pliers.

2. If you are sure the tab is down as far as it should go, you may have to pry the two connector halves apart with a flat screw driver.
