Frankly for people not used to swing arm bumpers you'll almost assuredly leave them on 100 percent of the time. You get used to them pretty quickly.

The gates weren't intended to be removed often or very easily. Yes - they can be removed if needed but we don't recommend pulling them off.

We will be including an option for customers to maintain their backup camera if desired. Stay tuned - more photos and details will come available as this goes into production.

As a sidebar question, and I am in no way trying to sound negative or contrary, I swore I would never go back to a swing-out mount after having one on my FJ. It was great at first but after a short time it became a rattle nightmare that I never learned to love off-road.

Do we know anything more at this point about how these swing-outs will lock-up to hold themselves in place and how rigid the swings will remain in the closed position when loaded? I am trying to talk myself into the idea versus the non-swing version (after previously swearing never again).

Based on the current measurements it doesn't look like a gravity siphon will work since the base of the can will be quite a bit lower than the gas cap.

We will have more details on the hinge and latch assembly as soon as production gets started (very soon). We are building these to handle abuse on and off the trails. We don't like things that rattle, clunk, or pop.

Will there still be room for the factory spare underneath, in case we're on a long trip and want two spares (and don't want to put one up top)?

Removability - I know from your previous posts that this wasn't a priority, and I get it from a design stability perspective why that's the case . . . and there's probably not a real answer you can give here on my dilemma. . . but sharing anyway, because I'm sure many in here face the same dilemmas.

I live in PB, so my T4R doesn't fit in my garage, so I have to parallel park most of the time and the swing-outs will hinder access to surfboards, wetsuits, etc. . .

I plan to overland maybe 1 or 2 times per year, so the swing-outs would be GREAT for that limited use. . . The rest of the time it's hitting local SD trails or deserts, mountain biking, surfing, etc. where I don't really need that much stuff.

So just how big of a PITA is it really gonna be to remove and replace? . . . lol . .

Yes. . . I want my cake, and I want to eat it too!!!

Also, is your shop open to the public? Living in SD, I'd love to come take a look . . . I have your sliders, want that front alum bumper, and in my opinion, your stuff has the best fitment and look of any of the other brands out there. . .huge fan!

The spare will fit in the factory location. Our corporate cruiser still has the oversized spare tucked underneath here:

As we get closer to entering production we'll have a better idea of the "removability" of the rear gate although it probably won't be easy.

Not a major concern for those that have ordered. Our estimated lead times are the same and the ETAs we've provided will remain. Our goal was to start production at the end of March but it's been pushed back slightly.
