My truck with an air intake, intake manifold spacer (not a TB spacer), tuning, 255 lph fuel pump, and long tube headers.

This second dyno is for a rough reference point showing stock numbers of an FJ and with a little bit of mods. The FJ has a manual transmission.

Friends xrunner with a TRD intake and NST pulleys.

And FYI this all have the same engine, the 1GR, but the xrunner has a 3.15 gear ratio while my truck and the FJ have a 3.73.

NO...YOU and Bowtie say they worked...And so far the ONLY proof you have is from testing done by the manufacturers themselves...NO INDEPENDENT PROOF WHAT-SO-EVER.

That is EXACTLY the same as the perpetual motion machine nonsense. NO INDEPENDENT PROOF WHAT-SO-EVER. Only proof is done by the manufacturers themselves.

You keep saying it's TRUE...but have yet to show me ANY PROOF WHAT-SO-EVER.

Some 30 years ago the tobacco manufacturers had independent studies conducted for them to PROVE that cigarette smoking was NOT BAD for you. (NOTE: If they are bought and paid for by the party selling the product they are NOT truly independent are they). They had PROOF (on the same level of proof I've seen so far) that showed cigarette smoking was fine. They had testimony from countless people who smoked for 30+ years without ever seeing the inside of a hospital.

Now is anyone here stupid enough to believe the smoking isn't bad for you???

Doug Thorley, is independent of the vehicle's manufacturer. So their base dyno is valid. Further more, it can be backed up, by other businesses or people who have done base dynos, so that they can see the gains had from their modifications.

Look at post #20. His numbers are extremely close to that of the base numbers in the dyno from Doug Thorley, on the FJ.

If you go to Doug Thorley's website, you can see the dyno's after their headers were installed as well.

Every type of engine is different yes. Some respond better or worse to aftermarket parts. The 1GR responds very well to intake and exhaust mods. Some intakes better than others. Proof is in the pudding, and there is your pudding.

You don't like it still, go buy your own intake or headers, APR X-1, AEM EMS, ProEFI Pro 128, Haltech, Injector Dynamics injectors, do a base dyno, then add the parts you just purchased and see what your independent data shows.

really mike getting angry with your posts as well? no one on this forum appriciates your attitude, I appologize for any jokes i've made that may have left you feeling insulted or justified your negative remarks. I have been nothing but polite, honest, and humble with my discussions with you. do you not find it rediculous yourself that you've argued your same point across 5 pages of a thread only asking what performance upgrades were available? being that your soap box is based on corperate corruption and false advertising?

Look mike if you've installed one of the performance upgrades on your 4runner mentioned and have had negitive or zero results then please post that information, or information showing you gained from the upgrade. I'm most positive the OP was looking for answers from people with experience with the upgrades available. I have experience with EFI live, edge tunners, bully dog tunners, power programmers of almost every brand, i have experience with exhausts systems, as well as cold air/ram air/cal induction/ high rise intakes/ forced induction setups/ as well as many internal engine part upgrades. I've seen the numbers and effects personally and have no reason to justify any of my results to a negative nancy such as your self. (I can program a Row Crop tractor to plow a field while the farmer sits in the cab reading up on the latest harvest methods and enjoy's himself a beer only really being in the tractor incase theres some sort of GPS guidence malfuction)

I've seen a stock duramax deisel with nothing other than EFI live programming go from factory foot pounds of torque to the ground to over 1000 ft/lbs to the ground. added a banks ram air intake and a narly innercooler got up 900hp unfortunately when you send those numbers through a factory drive train your going to run into weak points i.e. tire rods in his case lol. (no theres no relationship between a deisel truck and a gas truck) however asside from the few gemic knock off "performance upgrades" most of the simple performance upgrade options out there do work specially when paired together with other performance mods to maximize performance. it comes down to sourcing qaulity products by companies who will stand behind there products. I'm not going to purchase a power programmer that just makes claims or mpg gains and 20% power increase with no warranty or customer service backing. That would be ignorance at its best. I haven't recommended any products that have not shown proven results by customers and testing.

I suppose you read movie reviews before desiding to go see a movie to know if you'll like it for youself or not. on a personal note mike, dont knock something till you try it. Life is full of risks, some are worth taking and sometimes well we learn what i consider the best way, the hard way. But if your thinking about taking a chance in life; wether its gaining power in your engine, making travel plans to an exotic beach, learning to snowboard, etc.. you can't give a damn about what other people think say or do.

Shouldn't hold it against him he is in high school. When I was building my turbocharged bobbed and chopped F250 mud truck, a friend of a friends, teenage son helped me out and he was a pretty good mechanic.

im not holding it against him, he actually brought his truck to me to have me install his body lift, rear coils/trimspacers, and new CV axles. So i know he's not on our mechanical level, however he did do a pretty good job lending a helping hand here an there and he had a good sense of what tools to grab when i said hey can you grab this as i took a bath in his front diff fluid (forgot the part of diff fluid draining slightly when you pull the CV's lol got in a hurry an was just laying underneath the half shaft and diff housing connection) he just admitted it a few posts ago lol. I would never judge someones knowledge based on age after fully fabricating my own go-kart at the age of 14. its all about personal experience, I even showed jack how to remove and use his spare tire (lol good times jack holler if ya need anything)

NOT EVEN CLOSE....Show me verifiable independent testing. If you knew anything about engineering..you'd know what technical proof is. If it's NOT verifiable or independent..then it's nothing but pseudo science. Which is what I've been saying all along.

How much more independent does it get than me putting my own truck on a dyno? Or anyone else for that matter? Do I work for EFI Live or General Motors? Did I not drive to Orlando and pay $150 to dyno my truck and have it tuned by black bear performance?
