permanent code won't go away

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone can help me. Last week, I started my 4runner with disconnected map sensor. I replaced my air filter, but I forgot to plug it back in. I was able to reset MIL, but I still have p0102 permanent code, and my im readiness keeps failing on evap. I tried disconnecting battery terminal. That didn't help. My readiness was fine before. Is this just because of disconnecting the map sensor? My emission test is coming up soon. I have drove about 300 miles since then. It's still there. Is there any way to reset this thing? Should I take it to dealer?

Thank you

Seems like there should be a way to clear the codes on your reader.

Did you pull the MAP sensor out? If so it could have a pinched O ring. Ask me how I know.

It wont go away even after clearing it if it doesn't detect the sensor. Double check your plug that you plugged in and others you might of missed. Once all up and running perma code will self clear. G. L.

Hi Amir,

This is happening to me and I never touched my MAP sensor. My 4Runner is a 2021 but with only about 5K miles.- so like brand new.

Did you ever figure out how to resolve this??

did you buy it new? any reason or suspicion water has gotten in that area. unplug and plug in sensor again, maybe it wasn't seated well or came loose, spay both connectors with contact cleaner while you're there. maybe clean the MAF too with MAF cleaner. is your airbox on tight? all the clamps down? if the car is running fine it might be no big deal or a software glitch. if it doesn't go away after all that then more advanced troubleshooting is needed
