Yeah, selling is going to be a no no here. Our friend is using the evaluation version of that software. Making money off of it is a no no. For that, he has to buy the $15,000 professional version, which he isn't going to do. Or just bootleg the pro version so he can output the proper file formats for professional fabrication (not recommended). Not trying to be preachy here, but engineering is partly about ethics and liability management.
Anyway, don't forget to apply some of your other classes as well, especially DFM. That bumper looks pretty hard to make with lots of independent little faces. Fine if you are really good at cutting and have a press brake, or are a great welder with time on your hands, but you could fairly easily make this simpler, and ALOT easier to fab.
Also, it looks like you have every feature as one big piece of material. If you actually want to build from these plans, you should build it as individual pieces, then assemble it; e.g. the front rings and front plate won't be machined features, but will be machined rings, and a separate cut plate that you will weld on.
To be really thorough, if you plan on pressing instead of welding, then you should design this thing as one big single sheet, then add your bends. That way the CAD tells you what shape to cut the flat sheet metal in, then where to bend and by how much.
Nothing will make you a better CAD designer as quickly as actually making parts from your own drawings (I know by experience, you will curse yourself for the first several revisions of your drawing). Plus, if you get to know the guys that run the shop at your school, or a private machine shop, they will give you a wealth of knowledge that most mech-e's won't get (hint hint).
Plus it might keep LINY's girl's dad's employees from rolling their eyes at him when he gives them the "plans he got off the internet"
