Just out of curiosity, how are you making out on this compared to the 4xI pre-built cage? The cage looks great either way!

It's being built by Wicked Trail Fab in Colorado Springs. Chad does some nice custom work. I gave him the basic shape I wanted and I am leaving the rest in his hands.

It will have less welded joints than the 4x kit, but that is not a knock on Adam's work. The 4x kit rocks. I slightly stole the shape from 4x's 1st gen roll cage. Some day I will know how to weld and be able to do the work myself.

I'm still waiting to learn that one myself, brother! I'd love to take one of those tech-school courses where they teach you all the how's and why's of welding so I can feel confident piecing together my own goodies. I've often thought the one thing I'd love to do for a living would be to work in a fabrication shop building stuff from scratch--forget watching the clock, I wouldn't want to go home at night!

Welding is honestly so much fun. Combine a 4Runner too, there can't be anything better

Almost done!!! Went and got some paint today. I should have it painted by next week.

Since "someone" is selling another 4Runner, he had no use for the sliders he built for it. A few simple modifications and we are making them work on the Minnow.

sweet cage. i would love to have one just so i can mount all kinds of stuff to it. could do a overhead cb now

I pray that the cage never gets tested, but I do plan on mounting the high lift, shovel, air tank and fire extinguisher to it soon.

I wasn't even going to mention it on the forums at all. I don't want to sell it but my wife convinced me that it was the right thing to do. This time I'll be without a runner for about 8-10 months.

Bob, the jeep thing is be cool but I'm not dumping 35-40k on a new vehicle to beat it up in the mountains.
