Photo Timeline of my 4Runner {LOTS OF PICS}

Have you double checked your knuckle bearing preload? Sounds strange but I know it can cause problems with DW. The previous owner of my truck fought it for a while before he checked the preload (one side tighter than the other) and viola, it was gone.

My truck gets driven all over the country without any issues with the front end, so it can be done on a more DD type of vehicle. I do think leafs are a better option than links out east. Yes I know links are the superior setup on paper but with the corrosion and amount of mud/moisture we put up with, rubber bushings and sealed tie rod ends hold up much better than hiem joints. Probably a moot point by now because of how poorly everything has gone but food for thought.

Man that is rough... Hopes you get it figured out. Replacing things and just throwing money sucks and maybe 50% will fix it. I hope this other guy can figure it out. Hate people seeing leaving "The Way Of The SAS" lol

I know this may seem dumb but how long have you driven the truck with the mtr's. Is it sitting for weeks and you drive it 10 mins and say it has the DW? My Mtrs flat spot really bad after sitting a week or so. Its pretty crazy how not round they become. After a little bit they seem to get back to normal, but it takes driving.

I know this is probably not you case, but just throwing it out there. Flat spots on the tires combined with a loose heim/loose jam nut/too much toe/ect could probably do it

Most of the time it is after the truck sits, but it'll also happen all the way to work and back (60 or so miles total):help:

current working theories:

Coilovers are out of balance. One needs the preload to be set about 2" higher than the other to keep it level. Guy who built the truck says it's to balance the gas tank, but that's empty so it's BS. Gotta finally mount the reservoirs correctly (with new hose and fittings) then bring them in to be oiled and nitrogen-ed.

Hub-centric wheels on a Lug-centric axle. More on that later...

I get depressed every time I stop by and check in on this thread. Everything went so well until DW ruined the party. I love my SFA truck wheeling compared to my IFS 4Runner so it pains me even more that you haven't gotten out.

I know it's a bit of a bandaid but have you considering going to hydro assist? That should kill DW real fast

My coilovers have probably 1-1.5" of difference between adjustment.

I too have hub centric wheels on a lug centric axle.

Not saying it's not worth checking out, just some food for thought.

Coilovers "out of balance"? mmmm no.

Man that sucks that you're still chasing this crap though. Hope you get it worked out soon.

well not the physical balance of them… I'm talking the oil level and nitrogen charge between the two

Yeah that's still not something that's going to give you any sort of bad death wobble. My rear passenger coil over seal has been blown for like 3 months now and it leaks oil pretty good, but no problems whatsoever. You're also not even really going to notice the difference between a 100psi charge and a 300psi charge. I hope all your coilovers are charged though lol they should be at 200psi.

keyword there is REAR :biggrin1:

It's all we can think of...everything has been checked, rechecked, replaced and re-replaced.

The difference in coilover height settings is definitely AN issue even if it isn't THE issue.
