took a trip to NY earlier this month. i had many ideas in my head of shots i wanted to get while visiting, i only got a few of them. it was nice to spend a lot of the trip site seeing and not so much focused on taking pics.
these were shot with a Canon 5D Mark IV on a 24-70f/2.8
on the boat to Liberty Island with the NYC Skyline in the background.

First shots of the T4R with the Canon EOS R. Sadly the tamron 70-200 f2.8 doesnt work with the camera at the moment. Any one interested in this lense?

They make ring adapters, have you checked in to these? they are only around $100-150 from my extremely limited research

So I have a 4 year plan to buy a new DSLR. I say 4 years because I think the full frame mirrorless market is just now ramping up to full speed.
Sony, Canon or Nikon? It's going to be exciting times.

Honestly, I don't think you're going to go too wrong with whatever choice you end up with. The differences aren't going to make or break your photos in the end. It will be more how you use the camera. Get each potential option in your hands and see which one feels the best to you. As well as which one has the features that suit your wants/needs the most. Don't get too caught up into the numbers. Unless you plan on blowing up your photos to poster size (or above), most differences will be negligible.
I'm kind of in this same boat. I'm partial to Canon but Sony seems to be leading the pack right now.

Yeah the new Nikon and Canon full frame mirrorless lines are both pre-order right now and no one (in the public) knows what lenses will be on the market in 2 years once their new lineup matures.

Yeah I have the EF-RF adaptor canon makes but there is firmware issues. The camera locks up (knows the lens isn't a canon lens) or it'll register but act as only a MF
I think I'm just going to sell this lens and get the canon variant to fix this and future issues. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

oh dang. thats frustrating. i haven't spent much time looking up or reading about the new Canon line, cause then ill want it. I only know about the ring adapters cause of the 28-70 f/2 they introduced, I was looking to see if it would fit my Mark IV. I am just going to get the 24-70 f/2.8 instead of fiddling with adapters.
Sooooooo...how is the Pixel 3?!
I've pretty much settled on upgrading to that in the next couple weeks.

Yeah that's probably the best route! Or if you can, you could wait for the next canon camera haha. The EOS R is great but if you coming from a Mark lV then idk if it's completely worth it. Here's a photos I got today, unedited.
there's more but they are too large for T4R :/Going to just sell the Tamron 70-200 f2.8 and get the Canons version USM lll

It's like an iPhone Xs but costs less and takes much better pictures.
I'm going camping next weekend and I'll try to get some good landscape shots.

For pictures, it’s a toss-up depending on your taste.
For video, it’s not even close. Xs video capability is far superior to P3. But i will let the above Youtubers explain it better....
The huge difference here is that Smart HDR on Xs works on both pictures and video in REAL-time! That's ground breaking and why Apple A12 chip (esp neural network) is so damn powerful.
