Piaa lights

I know some of you have them on the front grill , bull , safari bars.

Are they worth the money or over priced and over hyped ????

Any use Hella's ?? How do they compare ?? (I was looking at the Black Magic lights.)

I want to get a Westin Safari bar and put some lights on it .

PIAA is to lights what Bose is to home audio. Great stuff, but way overpriced. You can get equal quality from a different brand. You can buy 3 sets of Hella 500's, which are good reliable lights, and mount them on your bar for the price of 1 set of PIAA 520's.

Black Magics are too big for the Westin Safari Grill, unless you modify the mounts. Using the stock mounts won't work. The Hella 500s fit, any bigger and it'll start to rub. I run the 500s myself, cheap and throw a decent beam down range. They make them in Fog and Driving beams. I got the driving beams, but kind of wish I went with the fog.

I have PIAAs on my runner. That being said... I think you can get the same/better quality for alot less money (as others have stated as well). Personally, I just like the looks of PIAAs, that's why I went with them.

Whats good to check out other than Piaa or Hella ?

I like the way the PIAA's look with the black housing and black stone plates.

I agree.

I've never personally seen Lightforce lights, but I've only heard/read great things about them from hardcore offroaders in the jeep forum I frequent.

I have owned LightForce 170s for the past few years and these things are tough. Check out my past messages. Had a minor accident this past spring and one of the LightForce lights flew off and landed 25 ft away and the only damage was a broken bulb. Extremely bright, affordable, and tough as nails. A favorite in the Outback.
