Pic Request: 255/80/17 w/o spacers, w/ stock wheels

hmmm i think with the 255 75 and 255 80 there are a lot of people running spacers...im actually about to bolt up 255 75 on fj 6 spokes that have .5" wider offset all around, about, and im hoping that reduces rubbing. i think there are accounts of people running them without spacers and making out alright though...

I was running this set up until about a month ago. 255/80/17 on stock rims, no spacers. But I just bought and installed TRD Wheels. I also have a Toytech lift though...
How much trimming did you need to do with the lift/wheel size combo?

None. Just pushed back the fender liner with a heat gun. It still rubs the liner slightly in reverse at full lock but you can't even hear it with the windows up.
i know it wouldn't fit on mine. it's tight as is with a curt hitch.

I keep a hitch mounted D-ring on mine and in order to install it I had to drop the spare a little to get the clearance to accept the hitch pin..
I was able to button it back up without any problems so I have a full size 255/75/17 under there.

I have a 2019 TRD Off-Road Premium that I just fitted with 255/80/17 Toyo Open Country tires on OEM rims.
Shop advised (before starting the job) that I buy wheel spacers and that the spare would not fit. I told them i read on the internet that everything would fit fine so it must be true.
Well, it did fit fine, including the spare. I may have some very slight rubbing in the front wheel well plastic, but haven’t even bothered to push the plastic out of the way.
I do have a suspension lift too, and I think the new Icon UCAs do help with wheel fitment (but I can’t verify that for sure) since they allow for more caster angle adjustment.

Which lift are you running? I am installing a 3”/2” Dobinsons lift and considering the same tires on my TRD OR,but don’t want to be too tucked under. You'll be fine I have only bilsteins at 1.75 in front and running a true 33" tire with zero issues at all. The tires dont feel skinny but that 1/2 inch or so in width goes a long way with space. I also have plans of a 100k mile bday gift of full cushy set up in a few years.
