Picked me up a 93 Runner

Good morning all. Ever since I lost my last Runner to frame issues I've been looking for a replacement. Because Runners in these parts are expensive, even with 200k on them, I ultimately ended up in a Cherokee. Nice rig but not a Runner. Well I finally found a t4r in PA that lived most of it's life in FL, originally bought in Irvine CA. It moved to the rust belt in 2008 and even though it's been subjected to the elements for the last 5 years it is amazingly clean. Has 116k 3.0 auto 4wd. Very minimal surface rust, no rot, descent interior, 2100 bucks! It would appear that this rig may have been pulled behind a diesel pusher because it has a frame hitch on the front end and some heavy duty wires with a plug on each end running from front hitch to rear hitch. The dash had a cover on it which I removed to reveal a brand new looking dashboard. The rear cargo area, tail gate, and back of rear seats all had black plastic coverings called Black Armor on it. Has some crazy heavy duty roof rack on it that I would like to swap back to oem eventually. It's wired for a cb with antenna mount on rear left quarter panel. All in all I think I did pretty well.

Couple things right off the bat that I'm curious about though. Do all the 2nd generation runners have a rear diff lock button? I've never seen that before. And under the hood there's a air compressor which appears to have a port on it for external use. What's this all about? And of course, what are the things that this year is prone too? I've read a few things about the 3.0 being problematic and head gasket issues but just like any vehicle, they all have their quirks ya know?

There are a few minor (I hope) issues that I need to start researching (i.e., rear window motor runs but no up/down action, a/c doesn't work, lots of what appear to be "extra" wiring going to all kinds of crazy extra's, wobbly gear shifter, if locked by pwr locks door locks continue locking all night long?, little wobble in front end at speeds above 50) I Started researching a little on the rear window so I'm going to pull it out today to clean it and lube everything up for starters then I'll go from there.

Well I better get out there and start sharin' some love, my runners waiting for me

Previous owners added a locker to your rear diff. Air compressor under the hood can be used for airing up tires and making your locker function . Nice come up!

Good

Nope, not even a factory option. Is the locker still there and functioning? Check and see if there is a line from the compressor to the rear diff.

Mail me a blank CD in a return envelope and I will burn you a copy of the Factory Service Manual.

Definitely, thanks man

Doesn't appear to be. There was a air gauge under the hood that was disconnected, a air line with a screw in it hanging down from the rear of the frame, and the wires coming from the compressor are not hooked to battery. Also appears to be a relay that is disconnected.

Since you said that it may have been pulled behind a motorhome... I am curious. Does the rear drive shaft have some sort of a disconnect?
I ask this because I may be pulling mine behind my motorhome and I know that I will have to disconnect my rear driveshaft so a not to damage the transmission/transfer case. Just wondering what other solutions are out there.
