Picked up my '15 TEP today!!

THE DAY FINALLY ARRIVED!! I ordered my 2015 4Runner Trail Premium about EIGHT WEEKS ago. Being as impatient as I am, it didn't help that all the snow and ice we received this week delayed delivery to me even further. My 4Runner arrived on Monday evening . . . It snowed Tuesday (closing the dealership early) and shut down my Toyota dealership Wednesday and Thursday. But today, I finally got my ride.

As some of you know, I'm a car fanatic. This 2015 is my FOURTH 4Runner since 2010. (I've had a 2010 LE, 2013 TE, 2014 LE, and now my 2015 TEP). A lot of people ask why I trade so often and the main reason is that I put a TON of miles on vehicles very quickly, driving between 35-40k per year. YES, I know that 4Runner's last a long time, but the amount of equity I have is what keeps me trading. All of my 4Runner's have maintained almost the same payment so WHY NOT?

Anyway, I already have a few plans for this one. And I DO plan on keeping this one for long time. Firstly I've already received a set of 20" wheels that I'll be getting on next week wrapped with BF Goodrich Rugged Terrains. Secondly, I'll be getting the windows tinted on Monday and the list goes on. I plan to paint the emblems white to match the 4R, changing the silver bumper accents to black, adding some rain guards and very possibly a leveling kit. Mostly small changes but I'll be posting pictures along the way if anyone is interested.

Seeing that you live in an area that has real winters, are you planning on doing oil spray rust proofing on your new truck? I always did when I lived in Toronto and it made a huge difference after 10 years (doing it every year) on the cars I owned in the past.

I have to agree with the others. Winters here aren't extreme enough to put much concern into. It snows, but it has been about 2 years since we've had a snow like we had this week. The last major snow I can remember was in 2010. So as of now, no plans for that. But you never know.

You'll like the billie setup its economical, gives you lift and firms up the ride but still not overly harsh.

That is just the look I prefer. I don't do any heavy off-roading therefore I don't have a need for huge tires and smaller wheels and I hate that look anyway. I had 20's on my black trail and I had nothing but compliments on it. (Still regret trading that one). Also, I saw a SR5P at the dealership with 20's and it looks pretty nice. But again, just my opinion.

Agreed. I had thought about just keeping the stock wheels and upgrading the tires until I saw the SR5P with 20's. I knew the tire options were limited, but to know that they worked on that one is what led me to deciding on the 20's. I had General Grabbers on my 2013 TE, but I'm wanting something more off-road this time around. I'm deciding between BFG rugged terrains and cooper discoverer's. Going Monday morning to get them so hopefully I can make a decision before then.

Why are you "wanting something more off-road" if your putting 20's on?
