So just picked up and drove back to my office my 'new' 1989 Truck. I bought it without seeing it as it was over 800Ks away from Auckland.
First time i have ever sat, never mind , drove a 4Runner.
So weird. Back to stick shift again. Its been awhile. Truck started up fine....bit of noise from the fan belt but i figured it was because in the back of a transporter all night.
So . Went to wind down the windows...their electric...and they work. Surprised. Excellent. Check mirrors...electric and work
Drive off trying not to stall it . Success.
Ok where is the switch for the back window. does it even work as i read that they can give issues. Found switch and presto...down goes the back window. So cool seeing it go down when i was on the motorway. Hello person driving behind me :hatsoff:
Next was to open the sunroof. I ended up pulling off the cover of the sunroof. How the hell did that survive over 320,000K of driving. Opened up the sunroof and ...snaps open...nice.
Need Diesel. Running very low. Thank you Mr. Seller.
Where is the fuel opener...is there one....found it...and pop opens the fuel lid....(to the surprise of the motorist beside me :hunter: )
First diesel car. Diesel is cheaper here in NZ so no big fuel bill
Didnt help that i got lost coming back to the office but...was a great 1st experience.
Before i picked it up i was thinking of taking off and on the canopy at the weekends...but its looks bigger up close. Thinking that i am going to go for the softopper.....and the Grey ( yep gonna go for grey i think ) will give the truck a newer look.
