I Love it. Wife loves it- no more sloppy floppy 4Runner and Super Tall in the saddle! Kids love it, they say it's like practicing climbing!

My next move is for tires-maybe rims too but gotta watch the pesos. I think posts said 275-65/70 would fit in the spare tire area but would 285-70-17's or 285-65-17 fit in the spare tire area? Say Duratracks or BFG AT's or MT's? I know i'll have to hammer the pinch weld- thats no prob.
If I want to get new rim's does anyone have experience with 20's or 22's? And are 20/22's ok for offroading when you have to air down? Thou I go offroad on hard trails only 2x a year there aint much on Long Island more :surfer: than trails!

I can tell by the plate frame your from long island. So am I and I have the toytec ultimate in mine too right now I have 265/70/17 duratracs on mine I want to move up to 285s the 265s barely rub at all. They started to hit the plastic inner fender a little more once I put the spacers on the tires. Is this car your dd if so I wouldn't recommend the mts there going to scream on the highway. I would suggest the both the Bfg at and the duratracs both are pretty good offroad I haven't run bfgs all that much but I can tell you that the duratracs are phenomenal in snow and they aren't that loud on the road. So that's my humble opinion

Good to hear about the duratracks, they're my first choice. It's nice to have the clearance with the lift.

How's the ride quality? And how much did the install cost if you don't mind me asking?

Looks great man but I would go with the GY Duratracs!! They are really a hybrid tire between an A/T and M/T tire. They are quite aggressive and would look GREAT on your 4runner with that lift.

I think I'd go with the duratracs too.. 20s or 22s are not as good if you plan to air down your tires, they don't have a large enough sidewall to benefit much and I think they're more likely to break a bead when aired down.

I think I've read that an aired down 285 will fit in the spare location but not inflated, I'm not 100% certain though.

My BFG ATs are great also but I think the duratracs look a little bit better and grab more. The duratracs on vehicles I've passed in traffic seem noticeably louder than my BFGs though.

That looks great too SkiBum. Are those 265s or 285s? Definitely the look i'm going for...would like to see some bigger pics if you've got them.

Gaterose thanks for that, I dont offroad much but yes enuff where that is a dealbreaker the 20's did look cool but I know I need something more than just GOOD LOOKS :biggrin2:.

SMEE the ride quality is awesome and for all lookin to have it done by someone else $540 for everything-install, wheel align&balance and a 500 mile no charge followup appt. This is a truck specialty shop not a regular mechanic shop.

I posted before I think I got 37 all around with the rear just a hair or 2 taller on my measuring tape saturday.

Regarding the CV angles are you looking for something specific like a measurement in the pics?

Great, thanks for the info. And I was just curious as to what your boot angles looked like because i'm about to install a 3"+ lift myself and am worried about them being too severe. Its not a big deal though, I've seen a few others posted on here.

I try to shoot a pic of the CV's. I hear ya, I had researched that same thing and found no issues with just 3" lift so it wasn't necessary to buy the light racing UCA's cause the CV angle is ok.
