Hey all, this was my first off road trip in my 2001 limited i bought about 3 months ago. I just took a trail back on Fort Benning and found plenty of other trails. Some trails looked to difficult to attempt being alone, stock, and wet out. I did manage to take a few risks and the Runner never let me down. I have brand new destinaton LE
tires in the stock size and they held up ok. If anyone wants to go out again tomorrow or monday i am down. Here are the pics

Are you guys allowed to wheel at Benning? Here on Hood we're not allowed to...plenty of land to fish and hunt on...and some of those places you kind of have to wheel to reach[ahem].

Not really sure. There were fresh tracks there, no signs or gates or anything saying off limits.

Here a lot of the land isn't owned by the Army, it's just leased to the Army for training purposes. Some of the land I can't hunt or fish on without calling a number so they have accountability of people who are on the land and to amke sure I'm not going into a training area. Also there are impact zones for artillery and such that you can never enter. There are lots of trails here too, I guess for the landowner to use to take care of his cattle[tons of cows here at Hood] and I'm always iffy about wheeling here and getting caught.

Good lookin runner. Ive been chased off Ft Benning trails as a kid. My Dad live out in Buena Vista, not to far. But anyways I'd deffinitely look into getting a range pass. We have em here for Eglin just $25 for fishing/recreation. Do not get caught wheeling, huge fine.

Actually, now that i think of it I may not have even been on benning. I went through the gate before i got to the trail. Anyways, if theres any MPs reading this im sorry and wont do it again!

I worked on Benning for a couple summers, and you have to be "checked" into the compartments. So be careful outthere. That being said there are some cool place to take the T4R. The GA clay is a bear, but good tires def help.

Just make sure you stay on the trails, not sure how it is there but here they get closed when people go wondering and destroying the habitat.

Good to see you know your limitations, especially being alone. Also good advice on staying on the trail, please Tread lightly! 99% of the public land that was once open to ORV's here in New England has been closed due to irresponsible users. :bash:

If you are driving around the back trails of Benning make sure you check in with MWR to see what areas are open.

Hunting Open Areas - Fort Benning DFMWR

You do not want to drive in on someones training, that could get you in trouble, or even worse if you are not sure where the live fire areas are.

Maps and the open areas are posted at several locations such as MWR on main post, and if you are over on the Alabama side you can check in over at Uchee Creek.

The trails are plentiful, be careful to stay out of areas posted as "sensitive", these are wildlife sensitive and you can not go off trail, staying on trail is fine.
