Pics wanted: 265 70 17 Duratrac on STOCK Sport

I am looking to put 265 70 17 Goodyear Duratrac tires on my stock 2006 V8 Sport. I searched threads and believe that there are a few people out there that run them on stock runners.

Any rubbing at all? anyone have any pics they can share?

I've been looking at picking up some Duratracs too. I've got an '04 V6 Sport, also with a stock suspension, and I would also love to see what it would look like with some Duratracs on it.

In pic 3 through that link you can see that he had to move up his front fender liner, considerably to fit the tires. The duratracs are extremely "square" tire, I know I still have a set of 5 sitting in my shed on my stock 17's in this size.

They are nice and I really looked at those but.........this is my opinion.

They look very nice and aggressive but...the sidewalls are very flimsy and not thick. I believe it is a 2 ply tire and last time I was in my Wal Mart these tires were $195. If I am going to pay that much for an AT/MT tire I am going to buy something that has alot of reviews and go from there. There aren't many good reviews on this tire and I have checked on all sort of tire and car sites on the internet. I would stay away from them and if you want Goodyears I would purchase the Duratrac which is a very nice aggressive looking tire and it is a tad cheaper than the Wrangler Authority.

:iagree: I almost bought them as well but didn't for the same reasons, it's also very hard to find any technical info for them cuz walmart is the only seller and goodyear doesn't even have the specs on their site. For $195 range you can get a duratrac or a bfg at. Those authorities do look very nice though.

I have heard great things about the Firestone Destination AT but the only thing I don't like is I wish they were a little more aggressive tread pattern!!! If they were I would buy them in a heartbeat.

the Duratrac hadn't been around for THAT long when this thread was started.

Are there any more 4runners out there running with 265/70/17 Duratracs now on a stock setup? Pics would be great.

I've got GY Wrangler ATS in 265-70-17 on mine, but it has a leveling kit. W/o the kit I'd probably would have had to move the fender liners.

I put 265/70/17 NITTO Terra Graplers on my 08 Sport and they fit great. No lift, no mods.

Not quite as rugged looking as MT tires, but they've got a tough tread pattern, great price and great reviews.

Not my ride, but the tires are the same.....

I run that tire on the same exact car as you got them about 2 weeks ago a bit costly but they are worth it amazing in the snow they don't rub too much at first the front passenger was hitting the openings in the fender liner but i simply bent them back to stop that

265 or 255s? 75s or 70s?

Hi there,

My Wrangler Kevlar tires are worn out and I need new ones. I have ordered the Daystar Lift kit and will be borrowing some tools to try and DIY that job... wish me luck.

I am wondering if I should go for the Duratracs in 255/75/17 as is my current plan or if I should go ahead and stick with the wider 265s. Any reason I should go with 70s instead of 75s? I mostly road drive and I tow a small ~4500lb boat but I'd like to have tires which can hack some offroad and snow for the longer term.

Any thoughts are appreciated.
