*Picture Request* Limiteds With Sliders And No Body Lift

I'm looking for some pictures of Limiteds with sliders and no body lift. When I went to get my BAMF sliders welded on we ran into problems with the limited flares and cladding getting in the way. Jerry pre sets his sliders to a 20 degree angle and there was no way to get them welded on without severely hacking up the flares/cladding.

Hopefully I can get some ideas and pass them on to Jerry, so he can make some changes for the next set. This problem should be only for Limited as the rear flare extends down and out a lot further than the SR5 counterparts. This may not be a problem with non-kickout versions, but we weren't able to mock any up to be sure. Thanks!

*All other trims and people with body lifts should not worry about fitment issues with BAMF sliders. This is a rare case for the Limiteds. I hope this doesn't deter anyone from going with BAMF as the sliders are top notch and Jerry is awesome to work with.

I have a limited with no BL and have the 4xinnovations sliders with kickout welded on. Here's a pretty bad pic from the install.

I installed with a 15* up sweep and I did have to shave down the cladding in the rear to accomodate. Additionally, under heavy flex, the sliders do contact the cladding a bit. Nothing that can't be taken care of with a dremel. If you're welding on to your frame, you're not going back to stock, so a little cladding trim won't hurt.

Thanks Mizzle, it wasn't a matter of a little trimming, but more like an inch off the bottom of the flare. It might have been due to the box tubing being so much bigger and closer to the body compared to round tube. I know a body lift will fix it, but a lot of people won't want BL's.

Here's a closer shot. I could see the combe of square tubing and 20* up sweep making at a much bigger issue. I'm considering a 1" BL anyway to better accomodate the 285 M/Ts.

Thanks again Mizzle, that definitely helps. I think it's a mix of the square tubing, a wider kickout and possibly them being 68" long instead of 67" like the 4x sliders.

When I got my ODL sliders welded on at the shop, they had to trim about a half inch off the front fender flare. I am running a 1" body lift too. They said they had never had to do this before. Not sure if mi e were aftermarket or what.

No we have this stupid bump that sticks down about an inch on the front fender flare. It is hollow and is there to flow with the Limited running boards better. We had to notch mine for the sliders to fit. It was the back that was giving me such a pain.

I just installed 66" Stubbs HD-SKO on my 2002 Ltd. The angle was set by Richard to deal with the cladding question. They clear the rear cladding just fine, but there's not room for much more of an angle. I'm not surprised to hear that a 20 degree cant would cause problems with limited trim or that others may have had to trim the cladding a bit. As I recall, Richard said they were at a 7.5 degree angle.

I can NOT fit a finger between the rear door cladding and slider. It is tight, but NO trimming required...

take some of the material off the bottoms of the cladding in order to get a better fit?

does anyone know if the the stock limited cladding is similar in size to the Bushwacker extend a flare?

I have Bushwacker flares arriving a n y day now.. I too have a non lifted 97 that i will be putting sliders on with a kickout and 20 degree angle.
