I have had this truck for 5 years now and given lots of love and enjoyment. It has got me up many trails and many miles of highway. 2 years ago I had a version of the Lower ball joint failure at less than 10mph turning onto my street. I rebuilt the entire front end, but unfortunately it has a salvage title now because I had to use insurance to buy the parts. Current problems are oil leak and an unknown culprit of a shimmy/ shake at freeway speeds and ABS light is on.
I have replaced all suspension bushings, rotors, steering rack, ball joints, tie rod ends. I have had the rear driveshaft rebalanced and u-joints replaced. Things left to do rear axle bearings/seals as there is a little play and leaking. front driveshaft balance and u-joints.
Vehicle has the following build: The original prototype Outdoor Logic front bumper, Vision X halogen lights on bumper, Ivan Stewarts with 285/75/16 Falken Wild Peaks. All-pro rock sliders, 1st gen roll bar. CB, wire connector for roof lights using deutsch weather tight connector. It no longer has roof rack or rear bumper. I believe current mileage is just under 270k. I am sure there are a few other things I am missing.
It is hard for me to even think of saying good bye to my 4Runner but after nearly a year of unemployment it makes it worse for me to look at it in the driveway and not figure out the shimmy/shake or have the money to keep chasing ideas.
Looking for $3000. Reduced down to $2500
