Pimp My Ride and an 05 4Runner

I agree with you all though, THAT THING IS UGLY!!
 
I'd rather see a modified & lifted 4R on HORSEPOWER TV or TRUCKS...i'd even volunteer my 4R!

I think I'll stick with my plain old 4Runner. I still can't get over the TV on the bottom of the car. "Now you can do your homework under your car and catch our show."

Yes, West Coast Customs should have collaborated with all of us, but they didn't, and I think they did a decent job without any help from a group of 4runner experts. I'd trade him for my 4runner of the month without thinking twice. That alone leads me to say that they did indeed pimp that runner.

What I'd do:
I hate the monitor on the bottom, but would rather have it then not so I could relocate it. If I got my hands on it the first thing I'd do was get rid of the two-tone paint and get it back to all black, but keep the flames for the time being. Second would be to paint the interior piece around the nav screen jet black. It had way too much green there.

I know you all may shoot me for saying it, but I liked the interior........even the green accents......sure I wouldn't pic it, but I thought it turned out pretty tight. Another thing that I thought didn't look too bad was the Jaos kit. The silver paint made it stand out too much. Black that shit out......and my opinion is that it goes pretty sweet with those dubs.

it's hard to see good in something that hideous but I guess the tails aren't bad. did they paint them?
 
I just saw the show tonight, i wasnt into the paint, the body kit and the green interior but they put some sick electronics in there

It was exactly the same hardware I'm using -- just they bought it preassembled as a kit. Also they used a commercial CarPC frontend software called Drivesoft. I haven't used that myself but there are a couple of (less than favorable) comments about it over at mp3car.com.

I looked fairly closely at the green beast of a center console they fab'd. It looks like they glassed the 7" screen (casing and all) right into the dash. I prefer the way I did it since mine is easily removable and also looks as close to OEM as possible. I've seen that DTV dish they had on top before. Unfortunately, that thing is still like $2500 just for the dish -- a bit out of my price range. I'm not sure what kind of DTV tuner they were using. I don't know if that part is truly integrated with the carpc or if it just plays through a video input on the monitor. In any case, the electronics package (in total) was a nice setup to be sure.
 
The thing I didn't like the most were, as everybody already mentioned, the flames. I also did not like the front body kit bumper or the mass of green on the inside.

Also if they were "pimping" it, then why didn't they deactivate the DRLs? (I have nothing against DRLs, BTW)
 
Dude,

Overhaulin' OWNS Pimp My Ride. Chip Foose and the other guys build those cars from the ground up in less than a week. No comparison...
 
I really really liked the OBD II information displayed on the front screen. But I'd settle for a black-box hooked up to my Laptop; which is something that I will seriously will pursue this summer.

As far as Overhaulin goes, I would like to have Chip Foose's children. Anything that guy does turns out amazing.

Hahaha, yeah well, I guess that would work too...

All I have to say is my 4Runner had Xenons, bishes! Lets see you MTV guys top that! :p
