Questions

Very nice! I'm curious - where did the installers put the hideaways for the unit and for the XM? Also, I'm diggin' the rims. Where's the best place to get a used set of Sequoia wheels cheap? Thanks!
 
The hideaways are in the dash somewhere.

The wheels I shopped around for on Craigslist, the forums, and eBay.

For the wheels, I found a guy on eBay that was a couple of hours from me and I thought his price was high and didn't think he would get any bites. So I sent the guy an message with an offer. Then he got what he wanted on eBay. His deal fell through, and he contacted me to accept my offer.
 
Hi Curtis

I have more ?'s about the iPod adaptor CD-IB100

How does the Pioneer iPod interface work, is it just like the iPod interface (folder hierarchy)? I have my movies on a playlist. Will I be able to select individual movies from this playlist?

Can audio still be heard from the headphone jack of the iPod while the iPod is playing through the CD-IB100? The reason I ask, is that for the video iPod, the RCA cables come from the headphone jack (even the video). I don't want AV to be cut off from the headphone jack while the iPod is connected to the CD-IB100. That way, I can view my movies through another aux input.

It on works on the top level folder. For instance, you have multiple albums for Dave Matthews Band. When you are in the "Artist" hierarchy, and you choose Dave Matthews Band, you do not get a list of Albums.

I do not know if you can choose a video...I do not have an iPod Video....yet.

I have not tried listening to the iPod headphone jack while connected to the AVIC.
 
curtis, I wonder, do you need the map disc for nav function?... so is that mean you can't play mp3 music while you're using nav?

The simple answer is "yes".

But, when you eject the NAV disc, it does load a certain about of NAV data into memory so that it can function on a lower "resolution"(ie. less detailed information) either locally or for your route.

Since I have the iPod adapter, I almost always have the NAV disc in the unit.

If I also got the pioneer mp3 disc changer, would I able to play mp3 from the charger, but also with full featured NAV (with the map disc in the deck)?

curtis, do you mind tellin me where you purchased the unit from? i am also from the LA area and the cheapest i found it for was $1550 installed. $1300 sounds pretty good.

Sure...I will tell you...but for the life of me I can not remember the name at the moment. When I do, I will let you know.

If you can get the unit cheaper without having it installed, I know a great mobile installer that will come to you. If I would have known of him before....that would be the route I would have taken.

i'm new to this site , i just got the N2 and ready to put it into my 04' 4 Runner , and which HU that come with your car , base model,
single disc JBL ,or 6 Disc JBL , i've the single disc JBL one , and have difficult to find and locate the wiring harness , do u have any idea with that , if anyone can give some info on it ,that will be very helpful , thanks

Hey SpecR....

Can't help you...My 4Runner came with the base stereo, and I did not do the install myself.

Just be careful if you guys decide to leave the screen out, especially if you're going to park it an open space. It's more visible to would be carjackers and they won't hesitate to break in to your vehicle and rip your vehicle apart trying to get your HU. Trust me, I know. Some a**hole broke into my 4runner about a year and a half ago a week before Christmas and stole my N1. So just be very careful guys where you park your vehicle, because I don't want to happen to you guys, to what happened w/ me.
