Nice! I got my Pioneer 710bt head unit off amazon a while back on sale too. Pioneer makes some quality stuff. It's my 3rd touchscreen pioneer and I love it.

I have a Sony double din cd player that I was going to put in the wife's car and put a dvd player in my car...I just don't know how much I would actually use it...

these will also do navigation but you have to add on the nav piece...which is around $300 right now.

i have that deck and it's frigg'n great only problem is, it doesn't support the profile to stream music over bluetooth but besides that it's amazing, i have a 8 gig sd card that just lives in the deck with a good amount of music on it and i use my driod x and the aux port for pandora radio and the music i have stored there between those 2 things i have no need for an ipod or mp3 player and a near limitless supply of music, i bypassed the dvd player safety by attaching the ground to my glove box latch so if on long trip mys girl can watch movies while i drive, i'll get a few pics of it installed on this thread tomorrow.

let me know if you have any questions about the operation or use of this HU, my understanding is the 4200 mentioned above is pretty much the same unit but comes with the bluetooth stream profile.

Do any of the Pioneer units offer dual zone? I really want to be able to send video to the backseat while I still have music etc up front. Don't want to be stuck watching Disney on long road trips :sleepy:

izzardking, if I already have an aftermarket cd player in my 4runner, will the harness be plug and play with the pioneer? I know I had to hardwire the harness in before. If this would just be plug and play that would be great.

Has anyone use backup camera with this system? Can I use any backkup camera or it has to be Pioneer Rear View Camera (ND-BC2 or ND-BC20PA)?

i would imagine you would need the wiring harness for this unit, as far as the back up camera goes it's just and a/v-in jack like what you have on teh back of your vcr/dvd player so i'm pretty sure any unit will work with it, but i'd check with an installer first on that one.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work with the 4200 which is what I'm trying to get as well. I think I'll just use crutchfield pricematch and i can get it for $400 unless somebody has a code or has found it cheaper elsewhere. I like it better because everything plugs into the back and it looks cooler + 8band eq is nice

Do you really have to have video where ever you go? Sometimes it's best to turn off all the gadgets and simply live life.

I saw some idiot driving down the road watching a porno. It was in plain view, glowing in the night where any kid riding by could see. It was bad enough that he was watching TV while driving.

It's all personal choice and taste to have lots of gadgets in a car and while it would be a bit much for me those bigger screens not only show video but can run navigation and such plus if you can route the video to a rear screen they can be lifesavers for parents entertaining kids on long road trips.

Watching porn on an in car screen can get you pulled over so there are laws in place but some people are idiots.

personally i didn't buy this for the dvd player, i bought it because it was double din,single screen, had all of the media formats i wanted, and was about $40 more expensive then a similar unit without the video so why not? i watch the dvd player if I'm waiting for someone in a parking lot or something, i have a warren miller video i keep in there and change out every so often for little rushes of inspiration.


and who knows porn in the truck might come in handy if your date passes out on you on the way home or whatnot, just ff the ruffies next time

lol ya i think pron is a bit much but most of the ppl on here are smarter then that and arent that sick... well the reason the 4200dvd is not on deal with this promo is bc the 3200dvd is the only product that is being sold through amazon itself. All the other Pioneer 3100dvd, 3200bt, 4100dvd, 4200dvd is being sold by independent companies that are using amazon's interface.

I like how the 4200dvd has the rear inputs for everything but it costs more and well since im a college student i need to go for wat is cheaper and my ipod is only 2gb so im just gonna use one of my 8gb SD cards i got laying around with this and itll serve its purpose.

Ya i dont think most ppl get it bc it has a dvd player but i could be wrong... I mean i wanted it bc ive been wanting a screen bc i think it looks nicer overall and can be used as a navi also and u can hook up a back-up cam which is important for me since i can barely see small cars since im partially high in the air. I mean i plan to use the dvd feature when waiting for ppl and i have a 14 month old that loves to watch movies to keep her calm at home so its a plus on long road trips.
