Plans for my 95

I am beginning to start doing some upgrades to my 95. I am weighing multiple options for a lift. I don't want anything more than, say 2 inches. I'd like to lift and still be able to run 31s without it looking like the tires are too small. I've thought about coil spring spacers in the back with ball joint spacers in the front and was wondering what you guys thought of that setup. I'm not very familiar with this stuff so anything helps.

I also want to add some rocksliders, a spare tire carrier, upgraded front bumper (Warn or ARB), maybe a roof rack and, some lights to mount on bith the rack and bumper.

This is it, I've since removed the running boards and added a nice sized dent to the left front fender (that's on my list as well).

There's lot of guys that run 31's on that setup. I personally prefer a filled out wheel well, and went with a 285/75/16. It seems like you have a good plan. There a lot of front bumper fabricators out there popping up with designs for these rigs, much cheaper alternatives than those two plated bumpers. 4x innovations makes a popular slider on the cheap, with great quality and options.

Will the spacers actually give me two inches of lift or will the springs compress with these added? Everyone says these can get rid of the sag but mine doesn't sag at all. I want people to look at it and wonder if its lifted, I like that look where it is lifted but just looks a little beefier than stock not too high.

Lift depends on your spacers. I run 2" on top of my LC coils currently. It's all going to be cut out here soon though. :boink:

I'm thinking maybe the 1.5" ball joint spacers and some LC coils in the back. I don't know if I can even find just a 2" suspension lift.

For the LC coils, it depends on which model of fj80 they are off of. They are anywhere from 2"-4" of lift. Mine are the 4" ones, so I have a total of 6" of lift in the rear.

Color code diagram can be found on yotatech for identification of the LC coils. I have 7 wrap coils, off of a 97 anniversary. I picked them up for $50 but it came out to about $120 all together after the refurbish (sandblast and paint). Old man emu rear coils should net about 2in, depending on the load rating you choose. It may be wise to upgrade shocks as well. I
chose to go with rear FJ80 Bilstein 4600s, 0"-1". If you do choose to go with FJ80 coils, a panhard drop bracket may be in order as well. 4crawler Offroad has many of the parts you need and fair prices.

The best place to find FJ80 coils in my opinion is the ih8mud forum.

Okay, I will definitely look into that. I need it to be a daily driver and I don't have the money to be upgrading wheels and tires and all to match a bigger lift so this might be my best option.

Thanks guys, this is most likely the direction I will go in. Are 31s the tallest tire you can run on 15x10.50 rims?

No, you can go pretty tall with a wheel that wide, manufacturers are your limit I suppose. My tires are 11.50 wide roughly, I'm running them on a stock 7in wheel.

1. Get a complete Ball Joint spacer kit that comes with a Diff drop and longer end links - $85 or so.
2. Get a set of Manual Locking Hubs. Aisins used from Wab Fab or a New set of WARNS. - $250 or so. (or junk yard for cheaper).
3. Get a set of OME rear coil springs, make or buy a bracket for the P. Valve.
4. Order a spare set of lower ball joints. - $50 - $75 or so.

If you do the BJ spacers up front, spend the $85 it cost to get the complete kit (which is so dirt cheap), with the differential drop kit, BJ spacers, and longer end links. This way you remove the stress created by poor CV angles. Then, get a set of Manual locking hubs, so you can leave your front end unlocked until you are ready to wheel. The current ADD system your 95 has keeps the front CVs turning at all times, and if its a daily driver creates wear and tear when you begin to toy with the angle with lift kits.

With this setup, the only thing you will have to replace more often is lower ball joints. Not a bad deal.

I went with the 1.5" BJ Spacers, OME shocks front and rear, and OME 901 coils. Oh, also had to replace my upper ball joints, though not due to the added goodies.

Got about 2" of lift, maybe a little more. Currently sitting on 265/75/16 BFG A/T's. Gives you enough room to really play around with tires and such, but not too much that you have to get crazy ordering parts for you to have it as a DD.

I'm loving how she looks! Drives SO MUCH better! :-)

I can run 32x11.50s with stock ride height, can't I? I'm thinking I'm just gonna go with coil spring spacers in the back to even it out for now. I was looking at the KM2s and was wondering if the 32s would be too big, hopefully not.

Old man emu makes a two inch, high quality lift. You can buy it in pieces or the kit which has f & r shocks, coils, steering dampener, and torison bars. You can crank the torsion bars or put bj spacer to level out the front but if you do either then make sure to put a differential drop in so your CV joints will last a little longer.

Seems like almost everyone else on here is ANTI-diff drop...?

I run 32x11.50 on a 10" high offset wheel on my stock height 95 and only had to trim a little bit off the plastic bumper valance. If the wheels were 2" or so less offset it wouldn't of hit, but may of hit somewhere else so you just never know til you try.
