Plasti dip Luxury Metals products for skid plates?

Honestly, I've never been a huge fan of plasti dip. At least not their standard stuff. I think it's good for certain applications. But I've never tried their luxury metal products.

Has anyone here tried them for anything? I painted my front skid plate with rust oleum silver metallic paint years ago and it's rusted through in several spots. I am considering re finishing with this stuff, but I wonder how it compares to rust oleum metallic. The rust oleum is very strong stuff. It's quite a bit harder than their regular spray paints, which is what you want for a skid plate. I'm wondering if the plasti dip would be as durable. Not that a couple cans are that expensive, but I'm not going to pay it, do the work of prepping and applying it, only to have re do everything if it's not as good as the rust oleum. It seems like plasti dip is a better encapsulator though, so I am interested in it.

Mainly I'm wondering if 1) it will actually hold up to the abuse a skid plate will take from daily driving - highway rocks, dust, sand, underbrush, occasionally running over a chupacabra, etc., and 2) if it actually looks like a metallic paint? Otherwise I'll just use rust oleum again. Thanks all

never used the luxury line, but I cant imagine it holding up on a skid plate. that being said, it is insanely easy to retouch after an offroad outing. I use the stuff on my components that don't see a lot of action
