Plasti Dip Wheel Thread

So you like them? All i hear is good things, because of the quality considering theyre retreads.
Im getting the lift in a week, so the tires are the following paycheck, then it all goes on!

I think if you went thru the trouble to sand/prep, you should have painted with Rustoleum Hammered.

I tried plasti myself, it's great. But, I think it is a short term solution with wheels.

Let us know how it holds up.

I never used the wheels I dipped myself, I sold them... Lesson learned, I layed it on too thick:

The great thing about plasti dip is it doesn't really require prep work and it self levels so it's hard to mess it up

Will do! I'd never used it before, so i wasn't sure what prep work you had to go through, so i figured a little more couldn't hurt. And eventually im buying Fuels, but i don't have 250 per rim to spend right now. I definitely dig the way your's look though. Was that just plasti dip too? It looks like the black might fade, has anyone had that issue?

Here it is finished! Im not going to put a clear coat on it, because i like the flat matte look. The only real PROBLEM i had was getting the tape off after it dried. That was a huge pita. Tomorrow i have a can of plasti dip the liquid type, so were jut going to straighten out the line with a brush.
I think the toyota symbol and the outside lip looks pretty cool unpainted, it gives it that machined look?

Yep, the wheels were plasti dipped with no sanding. Just scrubbed with a brush/soap/water. I wonder if they have held up.

Once i put them on, i'll definitely let y'all know how well these hold up. They are only temporary (well may become permanent considering the fuels i want are almost 300 EACH).

Thanks for the compliments though. I say someone do the toyota symbol in red and the ring a few times, so i thought i'd try it but instead of painting it, keep it the alloy color.

I like how they look though. Just can't wait to put them on my 4runner! :thumb3:
