Plasti dipped my wheels and grille! (pic heavy)

Hey everyone so I finally decided on plasti dipping my wheels and grille for that custom look and im a huge fan of black wheels so i went for it and i could be more happpy with the results! all it took was 2 cans of the plasti dip spray for 4 wheels ( coulda used more, i think that the more spray you use is better but i was impatient haha ) and needed one more for the grille, didnt need the entire can obviously.

I dont have much experiece with spray cans or any artistic skill at all so i had my friend whos a cj5 guy come help me and although we coulda done alot better if i had been more patient... it still turned out amazing! (IMO). the nozzles we had on the first two cans werent the best so it was hard to get it to come out evenly but we made it work!

Before:

First i cleaned each surface and crack on my stock wheels as much as i could

up on all fours!

It looks about 20 times better in person haha you have to trust me and i highly recommend anybody to the same to their rig if they want that custom n black look because its super easy and super cheap!i definitely missed a few spots and scratched a small part when i was tightening my lugs and it slipped but you cant tell till your up close breathing on them. hope you all enjoy!

so is this Plasti stuff like bed liner in a can? or vehicle undercoating? i see it a hot new thing here on our site. everyones using it.

kind of... when it comes out it first seems like a bed liner related texture, but after multiple coats and after it dries it comes together and just looks like a solid layer of paint... but the cool thing is that you can just literally peel off wherever you want like if you noticed i didnt tape exactly to the grille because i can just peel it right off the places i dont want it to.

pretty amazing stuff for cheap.. its supposed to be used for coating tools if that helps

For future reference the grill comes off in like 5 minutes with a flathead screwdriver. But truck turned out good.

Ha, yeah i know i didnt want to risk breaking the clips and because plasti dip is so easily removed i just did it that way but yea your right
