My rig (02 SR5) with 103K is sagging a little.. So I decided to change the rear coils and the shocks. I did my search and boy oh boy, did I got very confused or what? There are tons of great information and lots of debates. Any recomandations for a setup that would give me 2 or 3 inches max.. I don’t want to just get the same old factory shocks and coils from the dealer. I came across this info and need your input.

( Old Man Emu (OME) Lift Spring
Old Man Emu(a division of ARB) makes lift springs for the front and rear of the 4Runner. Many people are running these for lift. They are not overly expensive and still provide a good amount of lift and a quality ride. Trim packers can also be added to front and rear coils to ensure a leveled lift as many commonly misunderstand this.

Front options are:
• 880 1" lift coil for stock weight.
• 881 2.5" lift coil for stock weight.
• 883 3" lift coil designed for 100 lbs. additional front weight.
• 882 3" lift coil designed for 150+ lbs additional front weight.
• A top plate spacer can be combined with the 881 coil for a full 3" lift
for the rear you can choose from:
• 906 2" lift coil
• 890 3" lift coil
• 891 3" lift coil designed for additional weight.
Pros: Provides a decent amount of lift, gives a quality ride.
Cons: Not adjustable, more expensive than spacers. can sag over time.
:noidea:

I'm running the Toytec front springs and love them so far. I'm also running the OME 891's in the rear, and hate them. I've had the rears installed for less than 2k miles, and my 3" lift is now around 1". I've had horrible sagging in the rear, and replaced them after 3 months with another set. It's recommended that you run 200lbs in the rear if you use the 891's, so keep that in mind. Not sure where I'll go at this point. Maybe some LC coils for the rear?

I think it ultimately depends on what you want to do?

when you replaced the OEM 891 after three months did you get the same one for the replacement ? or something else.

I replaced them with the same thing. After about a month with the new springs I'm seeing some sag already. Although not as bad as before! Aside from the early sagging, the springs give a good ride. So I have no complaints about how the ride quality is, just not impressed with the life of the spring. In my opinion, a lot of your suspension needs to be planned around what you plan on doing. My wife and I do some wheeling from time to time, but I really gave that up when I sold my Jeep. We're now gearing towards back country travel, and hopefully overlanding in the future. So we're not building it to be a super capable wheeling vehicle. We're going to be carrying a lot more weight than the average and needed beefier springs to accommodate the weight. I might end up going with some some 861's that are for the Land Cruisers. Completely loaded down with about 500lbs in gear, and I should still be able to get around 4" in the rear.
