Please help. Rear window won't go up!!

This happened to my wife on a snowy day...the window lock was turned on!

So I'm having same exact problem. I come back from a 2 week vacation and go to the store. I tried locking using the fab and it made a noise like a door was still open, constant beep. Went thru all doors and shut them again and didn't fix the problem. So was thinking fab was dead and tried back window button. Now window is down, and 2 days later we get 8" of snow. So that sucked. My key lock on outside is seized up from never using it, so can't roll up that way. Buttons inside don't work either. Tried all normal things, window lock, reset ecu, unplugging box in back, and window or door lock (from fab) still doesn't work. Wondering if it could be that bright orange box in the back door? Any tests I can run? Sounds like this guy got window up but didn't have an actual fix.

Going to try just jumping out motor with a spare battery today but wanted to pick some brains here. Want window up for sure, but would be nice to be able to use my key fab to lock the doors till.

There is a splice shown in this thread which should force the window up or down. I'm going to do it for a local up/down switch on the hatch door.

So I go outside now that the now has stopped and the window switch started working. Didn't do anything new, and after 4 hours of messing around with it nothing happened. But today, just now, the switch worked and window is up. However the key fab lock is still not working. Any thoughts?

Frayed/damaged wires in the harness that runs from the body to the lift gate. Open up the grommet between the body and the lift gate near the left lift gate hinge and see what it looks like.

Another possibility is what happened with mine a few years ago - there is a short piece of wiring harness that plugs into the back of the hatch lock cylinder. Something in the electrical "rotary union" portion of this mini-harness goes south and basically sends the window DOWN signal all the time. Wet weather causes it. As a workaround that ended up permanant, I removed the mini-harness. Can't activate the window with the key in the lift gate anymore, but it works fine with the switch up front. The window no longer goes down in wet weather all by itself.

I had this problem. My rear window would roll down from the switch inside, but wouldn't roll back up. I had to use the key in the door to roll it back up (super inconvienent when the car has been started). Turns out it was the contacts in the switch. The two center ones somehow got bent down so they didn't make contact with the plug. I've been doing alot of dash worm recently so I guess it happened then. Once i bent them back window worked like a charm.

[MENTION=170774]NorthGawanderer[/MENTION], I have swapped out my switch with a KNOWN good one and still no luck. Pins are straight as an arrow. But it still rolls DOWN with switch just not up. Might have to check out the frayed wire possibility at the grommet.

I hate wires. Diagrams are Chinese to me. Lol

It's very simple to pull back the gromet and check the wiring -- just takes a few minutes.

See my post above NorthGawanderers. Just pull the panel and disconnect the ~3" long harness from either end and try it. Of course it won't work with the key in the hatch anymore, but it also won't roll down and stay down.
