Po705

Hmm, got a PO705 code today. Transmission Range Sensor error. From what I've read it's basically what I know of as a Neutral Safety Switch. I was working in adding a WDH on my trailer and it appears there may be a connection to that. Maybe the trailer wiring, maybe not. I don't know.

Can anyone tell me where the sensor is located and anything that might help get rid of the codes for good? Yes, I can get rid of it with my scan gauge but I'm not looking for a quick fix, I want to fix it.

TIA!

Thanks for trying Mike!

I'll take s fresh look in the morning w/o hooking up my trailer to see if there's a connection or coincidence.

Thanks, I'll be checking out my truck today. Was planning to hit a trail tomorrow, now that's questionable. It's been a year since I've been off road so I'm pretty bummed.

Here's what I'm finding today.

Apply brakes - left turn signal and R light go on
Left turn signal on, apply brakes, signal flashes faster -throws code
Right turn signal - normal when brakes applied
Code clears by turning truck off and back on

Looks like a short affecting the left turn signal to me. Going to check that out first.

Have you checked your fuses? I remember reading somewhere that someone else was having the same issue and checked the ignition fuse inside the cabin.
I believe it was 15 amp.

Fixed. Bad ground on my left rear tail light. Not sure where PO705 comes in but I'm glad it was simpler than it seemed.
