Just started listening to "The Way I Heard It" and I have to say yes its awesome. I even got the wife to listen to a few episodes. All of them are very short (6-8 min) which is nice, although anything up to 30-45 minutes is usually fine in my book.

My rotation consists of: The MMA Hour, The Anik and Florian podcast, The Fighter and The Kid, JRE, Superspeeders and The Smoking Tire, and sometimes The Church of What's Happening.
I have a few others that I'll check if none of the above have new content that I'm wanting to listen to.

The No Agenda Show, the best podcast in the universe. Media deconstruction and plenty of doses of sanity in the insanity of the news cycle.

Dan Carlin is great. I wish he would produce more content but I understand why he doesn't.

Joe Rogan, but only when he has interesting guests.

Those guys are great but I stopped listening a few years ago because their podcast is often over 2 - 2.5 hours long. I just can't do it.

I definitely liked Hardcore History. His work is very detailed but still engaging.

Have you listened to "Waking Up with Sam Harris" ? I'd also recommend it. Not for the close minded. The topics are ones that make both conservatives and progressives uncomfortable.

The Joe Rogan Experience! I can't believe no one has said this.
It's a video podcast, but is still great if you watch without the video.

I watch them on Vimeo, but they are on his website, iTunes, YouTube, etc for free.

I used to listen to Student of the Gun, but I felt like it was becoming a giant rolling commercial. The content was good, but the quantity of the content was not there.

I now listen to The Survival Podcast almost exclusively. The is a good amount of variety and I like the message.

Others I've listened to in the past are: AR15 podcast, Gunrunner (I think) and a bunch of other ones on the Firearms Radio Network

yeah, the guy from the ESPN show Pardon The Interuption - PTI.

He has had a sports radio talk show for about 25 years now out of Washington D.C., and decided to do it on his own terms with a podcast. its marginally about sports, but mostly about the daily whatever: news, sports, topics, travel, and most importantly Tony himself.

Has anyone found a Toyota-centric podcast for news and updates or maybe an overland gear podcast?

There is Toyota Trucks and Trails Podcast. It is more conversational than actual meat of information but it at least focuses on Toyotas and Off Roading. He also interviews quite a few people from the off roading community and large companies.
